sharks in city country

I like it a lot.

But give us back Stevo, he wont get picked for NSW if Gould is pulling the strings, so no point the old man playing.

Im with you King, Gould won't have Stevo in Origin so what is the point. City/Country if good for anything, should be about introducingthe young up and comers into the rep scene. Stevo has been playing well but I can't figure out his selection.

If our club jumped up and down like the Eagles did this week about players getting picked then Gallen would be in that 17 and not nuffys like King...

What a joke

While its good for our guys to get recognised i am not gonna lose any sleep over it.

Less players means less chance of injury. Hopefully Stevo comes through the came without any worries.

hmmm

Always find myself in 2 minds with this issue.

On the one hand there's the point of view that it's a meaningless game and the club is better not having players there risking injury and fatigue.

On the other hand I feel sorry for players who clearly deserve a shot and get the cold shoulder. I mean apart from winning a premiership the one thing players set as a goal is to get the recognition and excitement of making a rep side.

We have several who have the right to feel very hard done by IMO.

Gallen and Dykes have every right to be a bit p!ssed off.

Stevo should have retired from Rep Footy after last year.

I reckon Stevens shouldn't make the trip to Perth. Backing up from the City/Country match and playing again 24 hours later could be a bit much for the big fella. Even more so when you consider he has to get from Lismore to Perth!! Take Galloway/Stosic etc instead.

I can't believe Covell has been overlooked for Roberts/Tahu in the Country side. Have the selectors not seen any of our games this year?

And as much as Menzies is a fine player, Gallen is the form lock in the competition, what more does he have to do to get a look in?

What's the closest airport to Lismore?
Ballina?
Interesting flight schedule if he goes with QANTAS

06:30 Ballina 08:20 Sydney
10:40 Sydney 13:35 Perth

Giving him 6 hours to rest up and warm up and get on with it
Dunno how his schedule will be with that, considering the maintenance needed on his knees. One of those goofy exercise bikes on the plane perhaps?

I'm quite pleased that our involvement in a non-event game, but it's still surprising that only Stevens was picked. :?

Jason King? Hmmmm.

well i'm glad and i hope it fires the boys up to prove a point where it really counts, in the premiership. but while i'm just not into rep footy anymore, it must be a goal for the players.

as such this is really an absolute disgrace. o'donnell, maitua, riddell, menzies all ahead of gallen ? yeah, right. sure they are. riddell ?!?! the selectors are rubbish.

how many dragons and bulldogs are in the teams ? and how have they been travelling ? what a total joke !

dykes is twice the player braith is. not just because i'm sharks but because he wipes the floor with his bi-atch ass every time he plays him. covell also deserves a run after his season. i wonder if they even bother to watch any sharks games ?

country did themselves no favours leaving bailey out either. it's not like hasn't played successfully at every level, isn't in great form and hasn't outplayed ryan, simpson and every other country backrower all season. their loss.

you'd think at least at this level they'd pick on form and be willing to reward bright young players with the recognition they deserve and see how they go in a 'limited' rep level. instead they go and screw up the whole thing and have shown up this game for the mockery that it is.

think i'll be watching super 12 that night

Any time a Sharks player is not picked for a representative side, I breathe a sigh of relief. Maybe that's selfish but I want them fit and able to take on the more important task of helping edge the team toward the maiden Premiership.

For example (and yes I know I'm reaching here) but perhaps the Sharks might have made the finals last year if the hamstring tear had not happened to Kimmorley during NSW SOO training.
