I backed them to win the comp, make the 4, make the eight, and finish ahead of Manly. On that performance I should've backed them to win the spoon. I've got the sh*ts big time. After watching that load of cr*p! :x

Seriously ppl, lets be realistic here, who gives a crap who we played, or how well they did or didn't play, the point is it is only round 1. I don't think any of the penrith or newcastle supporters would be happy either but u don't see ppl saying they will be wooden spooners. You can't rule the whole team out for the season when it was only players like lomu, birdie and bailey that played horrendously.

After the anger subsides, you are most likely correct.

I still can't see us beating anyone but Souths and Manly.

There was a MASSIVE difference between the level of play seen last night, and the level of play shown by our mugs tonight.

Your missing the point. My point is, its only round 1 of the season. How can you rule them out of the season completely?

I guess because they were playing another low placed team from last year who had 1/3 of their team missing through injury. We had 2 missing a lost 2 during the match.
Even last years start was better when we took the field with flair and led Melbourne 16-0 near 1/2 time only to lose the game with an intercept off a misdirected Kimmorley kick.
I hope you're right and we do improve 1000%, Beats. But on tonights display, 2003 could look like our dream season. :(

You can't totally, but the contents of tonight's performance, a dogged, occasionally faltering effort, does suggest that the team may struggle through the year. Playing strength, as it currently stands, is still some way short of premiership-winning standard.

Absolutely nailed it cheese! I thought exactly that after the ninth failure in a row to complete a set of six. If we were upset by 2003, 2004 is set to be a cracker.
Well done Sharkies. There will be many a feared opposition after that show of strength and skill.

I doubt anyone is "really" writing our chances off this year just yet, but going on tonights performance, there's nothing wrong with being totally farged off at our inept side. they were f**king shite

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. After last years performance I'd be happy with a top 8 spot

I have seen wat happened tonight happen before. The Sharks have a great attacking lineup, the go into the game and fail to score points until just after halftime, when they equal the score of their opposition. The commentators then jinx us by commenting on how easily the Sharks should take the win with their great attacking lineup. Our Sharks then screw it up by bombing chances and then finally letting the opposition in for a winning try miutes out from fulltime.
It happened tonight. It happened last year against Melbourne, The Sharks' 4th straight loss at the start of the year.

I don't like to bag our team, but tonight was a disgrace. I'm just sick of these games where the Sharks should easily win but blow it. Forgive me if I am being too harsh on our boys here, but I do miss the days when we won games all the time.

On the plus side, though, at least we aint Parra supporters. They currently trail 36-0 at halftime.

Beats - it's OK. They are not going anywhere, bar spiralling out of control into a bleak, black emptiness. Come on down here, the water's fine!! :D :D :D
