The trials were supposed to sort out our play styles nad combinations.
This kind of start is not good after a season like 2003 mate

1. get rid of lomu
2. put bailey back in the backs
3. get sully in as hooker
4. give galloway some more time on the field
5. get aitken in for birdie
after all that and a bit of a pep talk from beats or peachy and you'll see us in the top 8

I guess because they were playing another low placed team from last year who had 1/3 of their team missing through injury. We had 2 missing a lost 2 during the match.
Even last years start was better when we took the field with flair and led Melbourne 16-0 near 1/2 time only to lose the game with an intercept off a misdirected Kimmorley kick.
I hope you're right and we do improve 1000%, Beats. But on tonights display, 2003 could look like our dream season.

I think round 1 last year was worse, that was a debacle of Titanic proportions. At least we competed tonight, not capitulated like last year.

i though Kimmorley played poorley, it was like he wasnt there, the attack in their 20m was so lost, it was like they were hanging around till the 5th just too kick it then
i thought Bailey wasnt too bad, he ran pretty strongly threw down defenders
we pushed way too many passes when not needed

actually we won our first game in 02 but that was with the help of matty johns having a blinder.
I dont think lomu was our worst, he did make some mistakes but he never stopped
taking it up, and when vagana comes back we will be getting alot of cheap metres from those offloads.

If you think Lomu was the worst look at peachey, he failed to stop the grubber, then when was marking Senter he looked at the defence and Senter scored, we all know Senter goes from dummy half not good at all peach lift your act

Sorry lads, but Saturday's performance can only be described as foreboding.

Yes, it’s only round 1. Sure, they were only trials… But the writing is on the wall. The difference in professionalism between the Shark’s performance compared to the majority of the league is frightening. We never looked in that game – and it wasn’t against quality opposition – the Tigers themselves were ordinary.

It was embarrassing at the stadium. People were laughing. And with good reason, I thought. And I can tell you – I’m sick of feeling like that.

They played a crap team (that would not have beaten Souths!) and managed to lose it.

Why should we accept that its reasonable to lose the easy games at any stage?

It is too early to open a vein, but on that performance, against THAT team, it's not too early to check that the razor is sharp.
