Barnett never got a chance under Lang to play anywhere but wing .He played outstanding when he finally did get the chance .Lang may have been a great coach but I think Barnetts career suffered under him

Richie suffered from injury, not Lang. he just didnt seem to be durable. A great ex Shark all the same & definitely worthy of a mention, but not a place IMO.

Could move Sludge to 5/8 and put McGaw in the centres.
Not a fan of Khan though he performed better when the chips were down.Dropped the ball too much for me.I know he was looking to offload a lot of the time but gee I found it frustrating.Lucky we had McMartin in the team and the best scrum feeder I've ever seen in Steve Hansard for a lot of that era.

Only contentious one I feel is at 9- MCmartin a whisker over Triester
Hey Foz- Mitch Healey has to be in the team somewhere, he played 220 something games for the club at 6 or 7 mainly 6 I think, so I don't think its that hard- so if we have bishop at 7 who played only 60 odd games then Healy has to be 6.
I have left Bird / Gallen out at this stage but feel they will be there by the end of their careers probably in the back row somewhere. I'll have a think who else could be in 17.

Healey has to be a contender,so does Dykes going on that line of thinking.
I think Sludge was the best 5/8 we had but he's also the best centre we've ever had and he had a few cracking years at lock too.
Can I just put him in at centre,5/8 and lock.
Played fullback when we won the Amco Cup too.(lol).
Dont think we've ever had a superstar 5/8 on a regular basis.

I thought Ghengis was our Artie & nearly as good.
Probably the first 2 props to perfect the "round the back of the defender" pass.

He was a real good scrummager too Reefy.Forgot to mention that.
When Khan.McMartin and Hansard were in a scrum we would always get more than 50 percent of the ball.
Sure we copped a few penalties against us but the scrum counts were pretty lop sided.
Just didnt like how often he dropped the ball and dont know that defence was his greatest weapon either.
Might of found it hard under the scrutiny of the stats boys these days but then again so might of Artie.
