I'm amazed we didn't drop the ball with it today.
I dont think Pearce thinks that deeply, to be honest. You need to run that play often enough so that the defence sticks on Fitzgibbon and gives space out wide. We're missing the payoff where we take advantage of it after setting it up, though. Plays aren't run in isolation, it's about how the set/s are structured to get the defence where you want them when you run the money play.

indeed. You would hope though that at the stage of Pearce's career not a word needs to be said....we can see it and we're only supporters.Isn't that what the coach is for? Noticing these strategic chances and coaching it in to the team?
Agree with the predictability of the play but I think it underlines a more serious problem with our attack in general....we never seem to get enough bodies in motion to create any defensive uncertainty in the opposition and that makes everything we do in attack largely predictable. It's the new Mullo chip bomb (?) thing. Does nothing and will never amount to anything but for some reason we keep doing it.
We're dead set in love with that play, it's like they think Fitzy is SBW circa 06
I could somewhat understand it if he were passing to sbw or Cordner but Fitzy ain't themIts Pearceys favourite play. I can remember him him butchering overlaps at the roosters going short to his back rower all the time.

Rewatches the game against the Dogs and Pearce is just the worst under pressure. With the game in the line, Ponga and Mann start dominating thr game while Pearce literally passed flat to Fitzgibbon twice on the last tackle and kicked into legs twice as well.
Just wanted ti vent...
Thought this summed up our attack this year perfectly. Don't know who made it.
