Should the draw favour certain teams?

The way the draw is structured these days, teams who are expected to have a lot of players in the origin get byes at that time of the year. Good examples are the broncos, roosters, dragons, bulldogs and newcastle.

The problem here lies for those teams who don't get many (or any) players selected for origin. And because origin makes players better for the experience which, in turn, helps out their team, shouldn't the draw just be random?

Effectively, we are making the rich richer and the poor poorer, yet everyone is always saying how the competition is closer this year, and they say it every year :x

I must say the draw is interesting these days but i think it is fair enough to give those certain teams with high representatives the bye just before an origin but they will always have to play once before an origin and i believe teams like that should play each other e.g. Knights vs Broncos, Roosters vs Dragons etc.

I must admitted though it does give you the shits when you see teams like Brisbane and Roosters getting it easy with the bye before Origin making it fare for them and lower teams unable to take advantage by playing them instead lower teams play other lower teams who both have all their players available. So I guess to some degree I agree with you mate.

I don't mind if they have one, but this year Brisbane had both byes before or after origins, and to me thats taking it to far.

One's enough for it to be coincidence or to be seen as helping them out a bit, but BOTH byes, well that's just special treatment. And unless every team that has alot of origin reps gets special treatment, I'd rather none get it.
