Should the Los Pumas enter the TN?

If Japan don't get to host it in 2011, more importantly if NZ do, I will just about lose all interest in Rugby Union. It would be a stupid move, not even the Rugby League powers would act so insular if they had such an opportunity and we know how foolish they can be.

If that happens then what next? Back to England in 2015? South Africa in 2019? Australia/New Zealand in 2023? Let's just rotate it between those three regions every four years.

Maybe even include the british teams as the Lions, and keep it as a five team tournament- South Africa, Australia, NZ, B&IL and France.

Returning it to Oceania after just one world cup elsewhere is a step in the wrong direction.

Absoultely not! There is already one team that cheats all day long (SOUTH AFRICA)! Why on earth would we want 2!

Jesus dude, you hate NZ, you hate SA, you hate Los Pumas, you probably hate all the NH teams too.... I reckon you'd be happiest if we had a comp where the Wallabies just stood in the middle of the pitch and played with themselves. (at least they might win something that way).

I would say there is a 90% chance NZ will NOT get the next RWC

I just can't see NZ getting the votes apart from maybe AUS and maybe the pacific islanders (do they even get a vote?!) Japan will undoubtedly be the favourites of the Northern Hemisphere powers, while SA could pull off a upset thanks to their new "Rainbow Cup" tournament which involves Sringboks A, Ireland A, Scotland, Italy etc. because this new tournament has rumoured to have curried some favour with these nations but only time will tell.

But the main reason Japan will get it is the neutral venue, NZ and SA are unbeatable at home, while Japan are a 3rd tier nation who probably won't even make the quarters this evens up the playing field drastically as no team has a real home ground advantage which I think a hell of a lot of nations would prefer to playing in cauldrons like Ellis Park or the House of Pain.

Japans pitch was third behind the other two bids...

This is the last time NZ has any chance of hosting it and the board members no it.

That is all irrelevent however as the backroom deals have already been done.. baring any sudden turn arounds New Zealand WILL host the 2011 world cup.

what backroom deals are you reffering to?

The "old farts" network that is the IRB.. NZ has done the deals with the various other board members.. just has it has always been done in the past.

I would rather see Japan get it. NZ just doesnt have the stadiums to generate that big event that say Eng, France, Aus, SA and Japan have going for them.

I don't HATE New Zealand actually. I like Wales and Ireland as well. South Africa just annoys me with the way they cheat all day!

I hope Japan gets to host the WC. That would be huge for their game and who knows maybe other Asian countries like China will get more into rugby.

Funny you should mention that, I recently read that the People's Army in China has introduced rubgy into it's ranks to toughen up the soldiers maybe it might take off?

They have done the same thing in india for the same reason to toughen up the army and build team work. I cant see it taking off but imagine the player resources they could pull on if it did take off.

I think the US should host the RUWC sometime. They did a bang-up job with the 94 soccer WC. Playing the RUWC in the US would raise the profile of the sport in NA and the world.
