Should the Raiders take action against the NRL?

I think you guys should worry about your actual team instead of refs.
Every time the Raiders lose, this is all I hear I never see anyone posting about the actual team's performance.

Focusing on bad calls is going to get you nowhere, all you can do is hope the officiating next year is better.
Which I remind you is happening to all teams.

Dude my brain is large enough to worry about both.

There is no doubt that we selfl destruct at times ... I have been one of our biggest critics in that department.

But as I and others have said that is not a pre-requiste for being treated a second class citizen by fotoball officialdom.

Neil Henry will cop a fine for his latest outburst even though 99% of football followers will agree with his opinion regarding the performance of West.

IMO they should just get rid of the video ref, it's been 10 years now and it's just as hopeless as ever.

Or, as much as I hate to say it, take a leaf from unions book. Much better when they can only rule on grounding.

exactly.

The game is in a bad way when they are allowing players to run 80 metres down feild, score a try, go upstairs to the video ref who makes a sh*thouse decision, and play resumes 80 metres back upfeild.

Had there been no video ref, the correct decision would have been made by Hayne, as he had not called the play back immediately. If Carney had been tackled 10 cm short of the line, play would have continued.

From a mutual can I just say that this was the biggest turning point "WRONG" decision seen in 2007.

If Henry cops a $10K fine. West should get $10K docked from his pay cheque at the end of the year. There was no excuse for that poor poor decision and one that surely now sees Brisbane make the 8 once again and sees the Raiders robbed of 2 deserved comp points.

I just hope Karma catches up with both the Raiders and the Bronc's!!!

If Karma catches up with the raiders we will be undefeated premiers next year!

Is there any other professional code where the standard of refereeing is so low and yet nothing is done about it. Refs obviously don't care becuase there are no consequences for making mistakes. This deprives potentially far better refs of valuable experience at the top level. Players get dropped on form and so should refs, not only for howlers but for inconsistencies within the game.

If Henry was the refs boss there would be plenty of them back in reggies for a couple of weeks to work on important aspects of their game.

I think Legal action may be a bit drastic, though I definately think Don Furner needs to call a meeting with Robert Finch, David Gallop and Graham Annesly to discuss the ongoing issues/bias against the raiders.

Such a meeting would let the NRL know that we are not going to accept this treatment and that Canberra will no longer tolerate being put in the "who cares basket" by the officials and the NRL administration.

It would also attract media coverage that would deter this obvious bias from re-occuring.

If D. Weidler is right about Finch quitting I don't seen any need for us to organise a meeting with him - the time would be better spent throwing a party.

My God I hope he's right.

They were just talking about it on Fox, all (Alexander, Freeman and Pearce) agreed that the video ref call was wrong.

Now get this folks, Gary Freeman said that the excuse the referees are offering is that Carney stuck his arm out while attempting the tackle and that it's one of the "key indicators" they look for when making a decision in that situation.

This followed with Brandy standing up and holding his arms to his sides like a penguin saying "I don't know a single player who goes into a tackle like this!". Funny stuff.

Can't believe the "excuse" the refs have come up with. I mean FFS if Wayne Pearce thinks it was a fair try then it was a try worth 8 points!

Yes Walt but on CH9 news, where the vast majority get their news, there is no mention made of the controversial decisions that cost the Raiders a game.

Yep lets mention Manly but who cares about Canberra.

And this is precisely my point ... the NRL refs are not held accountable when it comes to this club ... they know it and that is the reason decisions consisently go against us.

It is about time that Raiders management made them accountable ... and if that takes court action then so be it.

And with the money you save you can start the fund to take a class action against the NRL.

Saab my man...

I know a couple of you broncs fellas think we piss and moan about everything BUT the players.

As a canberra forum frequenter, I can definately say that's not the case. Open up all the old strings and see how much we are disappointed in our own players. How much we dissect how poorly we played week in, week out. Sure we'll have a whinge about the ref from time to time but there's an old saying 'people in glass houses...'.

That was a completely wrong call. Like it or lump it. There is no excuse for the video referee to get that wrong. I would have thought a key indicator is to watch the players eyes. Carney had all eyes on the player.

You're input is welcome but this is turning into a beatup. At the end of the day, this is a CANBERRA RAIDERS forum.

Saab congratulations you won the game but please dont come here and seriously post that the Raiders were not hard done by.

I was listening to 2KY BSB this morning and a Roosters fan rang in and admitted that in his opinion there is absolutely no doubt that the course of the game was changed by a decision that was incorrect and not even close to being correct. The commentators agreed as has every other fair minded follower of our game.

Now your team might get only a few of these a season ... we get them every f**king game, and sometimes two at a time as happened yesterday.

It is obvious that when these 50-50 calls (or 60-40) raise their head that it is far easier for a ref to adjudicate against us ... less flack for them in the long run.

I applaud Henry for his remarks and I call on management to take it the next step.

im starting to think im being set up for Punk'd... which one of these net handles is Ashton?

Court action is a bit much and I don't think it would achieve anything.

I'm just hoping nothing like this happens in the GF.
