Just reading through a thread here regarding teams like Cabramatta, Mounties and Wenty not fielding A grade sides. Sad to see it all falling apart at this level as I use to enjoy watching A grade games in the Penrith comp. I can't help but think that everything was much better before Toyota cup and the axing of Reserve grade.
When the Nrl gets the new tv rights deals I'd like to see the introduction of a NRL reserve grade for each club and maybe make the Toyota cup an under 18's comp. It might not be cost effective for NRL clubs having to fly 3 grades around the country(unless they get a fair share of the pie from the NRL) but it will mean less impact on Park footy because you won't have metro cup clubs like Wenty and Windsor directly feeding the NRL. It also seems like it's been too large a step up for most of the Under 20's to 1st grade.
