i said yes but only casue of the money the club will get out of it.. hopefully the club puts the money into doing something constructive so a situation like this won't have to happen again..
ffs we have 4 home grounds next year.. we're not the wests nomads we're the wests tigers..

So how does this look for 2005 :

6 games at Telstra
3 games at Leichhardt
2 games at Campbelltown
1 game at Jade, NZ

Might as well hand over Campbelltown to the Dogs.

As I have said in the past. This Club has no Identity. We would rather play away games than create our own fortress. Good idea WT management. Ranks up there with the great decisions you made in the inaugral year.

Well something needs to be done. We cant lose $45,000 every time we play a game of football or we will never get anywhere.

Now I love Leichhardt just as much as any other person on here. But I'd rather us move full-time to Campbelltown and upgrade the ground so it meets standard requirements (press rooms, dressing rooms etc.) than play 6 games at Telstra Stadium every year.

I'm sure most people would agree.

Well my information is that Campbelltown is just as unprofitable as Leichhardt because 85% of game day revenue comes from corporate hospitality and neither ground can match Telstra or Jade.

But then again, my information came from people who encouraged us to fight for Leichhardt Oval and have no doubt continued to encourage us knowing full well that a move to Telstra was on the cards that would leave us with 2-3 games per year. I am extremely thankful that we have now wasted considerable time, money and effort only to be kicked in the teeth or stabbed in the back by the Board and club.

If this is confirmed, our campaign is over as far as I'm concerned. It was going to be tough enough with 4-5 games, but make that 2-3 and we will only make ourselves look silly by continuing the fight when those supposedly on our side are making decisions like this.

Max, I want to see the books. I am sceptical of a $40,000 lights bill for one match. I am sceptical of the figures that have been trotted out for the big screens also.

At the end of the day I can accept losing games if we can't break even, so what I want them to do is to tell me that it takes 7 games at Telstra and Jade to break even at the end of the season if you play 5 games at Campbelltown and Leichhardt. I then want to know what other revenue they are making and why they can't make enough to give the fans what they want.. and that is home games with atmosphere where the players get a home ground advantage.

I think the time has come for the fans to know what is happening and where the money is coming from and going to. And if there is a lack of funds, what initiatives have been made to get more funds..

Balmain Football Club members would have received letters about a meeting to vote on a new rule that would effectively give the Board more security. I urge you to attend and vote against it like the STR team will be. In these volatile times when we are kept in the dark, we cannot be giving the Board more power and security. Enough is enough.

Another nail in the coffin.

I can understand them losing money when they played against Melbourne at Leichhardt in the freezing winter after losing how ever many games it was. I cannot understand them losing money when there are more than 10,000 PAYING fans there. Maybe i am too business educated to understand the operations of a charity (Wests JV), but surely, they must use benchmarks when setting prices..... ie: if they get 12,000 paying fans (excluding corporate entertainment) at an average price of $12.00 then they should have $144,000.00 in gate sales. If there are 20 corporate suites/boxes with an average of 10 seats per box at $150.00 a head that would be another $30,000.00 - then beer sales at say 1 beer per head, therefore 12,000 @ $4.00 = $48,000.00 - then food, again, an average spend on say $4.00 each, therefore another $48,000.00........

Based on the above figures, the total gross revenue should be:
$144,000.00 + $30,000.00 + $48,000.00 + $48,000.00 =
$270,000.00

Obviously there are fixed costs and variable costs (too numerous and boring to list), but lets say that the club should be running at an average net profit margin on 10% then at worst, they should have $27,000 in the sky rocket at the end of the night.

They are suffering from bad management and it doesn't look like that will end.

If they are losing money from the scenario above, then i suggest we form a syndicate and buy the fu*king thing, as i am sure that i could make money.

See, hybrid - your reaction and statement about moving full-time to Campbelltown is EXACTLY what the club aims to gain from this move to Telstra! Wake up people, we're being forced to accept the fact that they want one home ground regardless of what we want.......they will keep reducing the amount of games we have until we finally give up.....i for one, will give up, but i won't give up on Leichhardt Oval, i will eventually give up on the club and following it with the passion and dedication i do because the club is treating its supporters with utter contempt and disrespect....they think we're fools? Really? As i said, we may be masochists for supporting this team but we're not dumb.........if we have 2 games at C'town or Leichhardt as a result of this then screw you Wests Tigers management, screw you.......i DO NOT support a club who's management treats its lifeblood like idiots...

Then what the hell did the money go towards when Campbelltown was upgraded? It surely looks like a new venue to me. Can't the corporate and media facilities be upgraded and why werent they upgraded before?

Agree 100%. It's about time we know what the hell is going on.

I know that the club was planning to leave Leichhardt at the end of next year possibly, but I had no idea that Campbelltown wasnt up to scratch either.

If any Balmain fan who now supports the JV, thinks that the Parramatta Tigers wouldn't have been a better outcome than this must be dialling in from Callan Park.

Impellitteri, i know where you are coming from. Posted a close to identical post in STR forum earlier today. There are only so many kicks in the guts you can cop before you start to lose the passion. I feel for the players because we want to support them but the club is making it hard when they treat us with contempt.

I am not sure how easy this info is to come across, but if anyone has access to this info could they please post:

Average (or total with the number of games played) attendance at Campbelltown since the JV's inception:

I was a Balmain fan, and I would have prefered to merge with Wests, as we did.

The Parramatta bid was always going to be a takeover. All we would have had was the Tiger emblem. The Balmain side of that supposed "JV" would have been dead a long time ago.

We wouldnt even have played at Leichhardt Oval. It was practically the same as the Illawarra/Dragons takeover. If you think Illawarra is alive in that club, you're kidding.

I wish I could answer that for you. But as I said, that 85% figure came from somebody who I no longer trust.

Who approved the 6 games at Homebush?

Balmain Board???

Or representatives from Balmain and Wests..that is the Wests Tigers board?

Surely Noyce can't make this decision on his own?

Hmmm, two or three games at Leichhardt and a Florida Panther painted like a Tiger does not make you even close to Balmain. I was simply stating that the way it continues to go, the club will have no part of Balmain in it anyway. At least with Parramatta, we would have known what we were getting, this is all too cloak and dagger.
