Should wests tigers play 6 games at homebush for $$$

I mentioned this on the STR forums.............if the weather was bad for a game at Telstra, i would consider staying away. Whereas if the game was at leichhardt, it could Hail and i would still be there. I think im like a lot of supporters too who dont agree for one second with this telstra stadium issue, but me personally, i would attend, albeit reluctantly.

When the Bulldogs were using Telstra, i never minded when we played them there, in fact i would prefer to play them there than at Belmore where they were far harder to beat, as are the WT at Leichardt and Campbelltown. The ground holds no fear for any opposition teams.

On top of all this, you really have to wonder where this will all end. It seems most of us feel the same, and that for me is a real kick in the guts. We (the fans) have had to swallow this bitter pill called merging, and we have finally managed to put all our differences aside and support a club that has been shoved down our throats. We have all shown this year, if we have a reasonably competitive team we will all get out there and support them (at our HOME grounds). To me, a club with no home is a club without a soul, and i don't think that will help attract or retain any players in the future. And to think i thought it was bad we gave away a home game for 3 years to play in NZ :x :x :x :x :x

Any move to play games at telstra will be a disaster, maybe not financially, but we're gonna get maybe 10-13K on average there a game in a 80K seater stadium, there'll be no atmosphere , fans will be told to bring loud speakers to create noise. Besides, i dont wanna sit on seats, i want a hill and to be metres from the action, not 40 metres.

Kid i think youre right, doing this will be selling our soul.

i started taking my one year old son to leichhardt this year on the hill, because it was grass and it didn't matter if he fell over were am i suposed to take him at homebush, what a joke thanks for looking after your supporters tigers, might have to only go to away games at penrith,kogarah/win, shark park,

I think telstra stadium is a wonderful venue for sport but for a Sydney based league club who isnt even able to attract consistent crowds of 15K+, its a disaster.

The Dogs weren't getting huge crowds until they moved to the olymic stadium, it took a few years but now it seems that a sub 20,000 crowd is smallish at the venue. I think it is something that needs to happen. The AFL in Melbourne use this system (ground sharing) so that the best facilities can be enjoyed by all. Also helps maximise the revenues the club brings in. Personally I'd like to see you guys put any money the goverment gives you into fixing up Campbelltown Stadium so that it is a venue which will generate the revenues the club is looking for (ie heaps more corporate boxes!). RIP Leichardt Oval.

Thats a massive kick in the guts especially for the STR team.I cant belive the lack of communication coming from the club to you guys.How could they fully endorse the campaign if the always had intentions of doing the exact opposite.Absolutely pathetic WT management.You should be sacked. :roll:

I really feel for all those who have organised STR and actively participated in running the campaign. You have all put in a lot of work and it has been a massive kick in the guts to you all. The WT board should be ashamed of themselves. :x

maybe the extra money the tigers will pocket from playing 6 games at Telstra stadium could be spent on ungrading the lighting at campbelltown or something so it costs less to stage a game at Campbelltown or Leichhart.
