I trust Flanno to do the right thing and arrange the re-signing of Liddle on a further 2 years minimum. If he cannot do this his credibility with me will be way, way down and I would lose some respect for him as our coach.

Liddle offers so much to the team and if Flanno can leave him on the field for most of the games, he will help us manage games much better.

Get it done Flanno. Put aside your thoughts of your son as being the other hooker to Cook next year. Your son has been very poor in managing games for the Dragons. Don't let the Dragons fans down.

Can someone post the source of the rumours. From memory, whoever initially posted it said it was from Facebook. If it is from Facebook, it is probably the weakest source for any rumour. But, hasn't it grown wings in here........ this rumour has been Fertilised and watered by the usual Flanno haters.
The rumour is fertilised by S F actions week in week out re his usage of Liddle and obvious preference for Cook despite Liddle being the better player by some margin.

What scares me is every press conference when someone mentioned how well Liddle went, Flanno goes “yeah he’s good but Cooky deserves credit” yesterday was the only time where that statement was warranted. It’s happened like 4 or 5 times when Cook didn’t play well. I hope that doesn’t piss Liddle off too much
100% I noticed that too. Not sure if it’s bc cook is next to him or if I’m reading into something.

I loved Liddles try but I am not sure he is the long term hooker we need. His speed and opportunism are great but there are other things I think he lacks that a dummy half needs.

I dont think his defence is good enough, we need a hooker who can make solid contact and help limit PCM, attacking players seem to roll Liddle forward even though he doesnt drop off. Also his service is not crisp or long enough which puts pressure on our hitups and his decision making from dummy half can be clunky and indecisive.

I think this is one of the areas we need to improve later in the game if we are going to consistently win the tight ones.

I am not saying get rid of Liddle, what I would like is for us to get a genuine gun hooker.

I suspect it comes down to what Lids is promised re starting or bench?

starting with a pack organising hooker is vital for field position when the running hooker iss negligible impact.

but equally true is that the speed of the game and back end of each half is allowing smaller mobile props to feature significantly and mobile hookers / backrowers off the bench to have more impact

i like our combo and given our halves are cheap we can spend more on Lids you would suspect as one of our attacking players?

Yesterdays game showed that when the NRL is turning into periods of Touch Footy then the players like Lids rise to the top and torch opposition tired legs

I forgot to add that the rumour is also fertilised by the totally unnecessary and premature extension of K F.

To think that happened and Liddle is not already extended is laughable.

Just posted this another thread after doing some research, last year Liddle only got used for 80 mins in his preferred position for 8 matches, in all others we had a replacement dummy half and Liddle was used as a second rower/lock forward.

In the off season we then go and sign Cook.

So we didn't use this good player properly for the majority of last season, in the off season we sign a washed up dummy half for him to play second fiddle and soon enough if the rumours are true and Liddle moves on to another club, we will all scratch our heads and make up excuses as to why.

If we lose Liddle that lies squarely with our inept coach and his poor recruitment/retention.

"If we lose Liddle that lies squarely with our inept coach and his poor recruitment/retention" ......... This has been happening for years now , throw in the leeches on Board and the ex players floating around the club , plus a CEO that has no say .........
