"LIDDLE MAY LEAVE DRAGONS OVER LACK OF GAME TIME

The Dragons may be about to pay the price for giving hooker Jacob Liddle limited game time, with no guarantees that he will remain with the club.

Liddle has an option to stay with the joint venture in 2026, but given that he has been demoted to a bench role in 2025, with the arrival of Damien Cook from the Rabbitohs, he may look to continue his career elsewhere next year.

While Liddle has only played more than 40 minutes of a game just three times this season, he has still managed to score six tries in his 10 games in 2025.


Liddle’s manager Gavin Orr told Wide World of Sports’ The Mole that the situation is being monitored.

“Jacob is happy at the Dragons but obviously would like to start games and have more match time,” Orr said.

“We will see how things play out.”

With the Cowboys to lose Reece Robson to the Roosters in 2026, they may make a play for Liddle, who earned Prime Minister’s XIII selection in 2024.

The 28-year-old has played 54 games for St George Illawarra after switching from the Wests Tigers."

I haven't thought of the Cowboys, but yes if they are losing Robson to the Roosters next year, they might try their luck and get Liddle to replace Robson.

Come on whoever is in charge of recruitment at the Dragons extend Liddle's contract with the Red V and Flanno needs to give him at least 60 minutes of game time.

Liddle is better as an impact player off the bench, he is not an 80 minute player often time's last season he was burnt out Flanno is playing them just fine.

We are all in agreeance though this season Coach should have brought Liddle into many games earlier (IMO)

The worry is the contract games that Liddle's manager is playing

If starting games is the clincher, I don't think Dragons will re-sign.

If they can negotiate more game time, without starting, then it's a win for us and worth upgrading his contract.

I'm not sold on him either, especially at the touted $1m per season. Atm I think he is in the overhyped bucket for mine.

I was at the Tigers v Souths game last round, and I sat on the hill, behind the posts. Until you're watching it in front of you, you really don't notice how damn lateral Galvin plays. So much crabbing across field.

Zac said many times he was happy playing any position, he wasn't happy that his contract talks with us took so long over the pre season. In the end he decided the Eels were a better prospect for his future plans.

Flanagan never once suggested Hunt should play hooker, if you can point me to where he did, please do mate?
Hunt just got sick of being flamed for the inept team performances and being belittled by the coach.

The fact both players took substantial pay cuts to leave this sinking ship should speak volumes, there was a lot more to both than just which position they played in and that's very well recorded in media.

+ TPA, which probably in the end is a wage rise.

Liddle is one of our best performers

In this case, I'd like to think that Liddle's manager is just agitating for a better financial return for his client.

The comments he made will attract some interest from other clubs which will increase pressure on the Dragons to upgrade and extend contract.

I reckon Liddle deserves an upgrade and my gut feeling is that Liddle is generally happy wearing the RED V

TBH - I was suspendered for breaking the rules
(After reading the rules it was fair)

When my access was restored, many things changed
