Well this is all where last started with Plagiarize for me  Got on her for the Slipper double at massive odds before she raced in this and she went onto win this and then her next start to become slipper favourite before injury.

I earmarked Husson Lightning as a Golden Slipper horse in his first prep. Currently 13/1 for it. Will wait till I see the form, but may stick with him.

Lightning ready to strike in Slipper

Big raced specialist Chris Munce has his first feel this morning of outstanding youngster Husson Lightning as the colt prepares for Saturday's Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill.

Working on the course proper at Randwick, Husson Lightning was partnered by the more seasoned Churchill Downs and reeled off 800m in 53 with splits of 38.3 and 11.6.
"He went real good and did every bit as good as the older horse," Munce said.
"The time for the final sectional was very pleasing and he did have a bit of a blow afterwards."
The David Hayes juvenile is having his first start since his close second to Mimi Lebrock in the Magic Millions last month.
The Silver Slipper is emerging as a top Golden Slipper prelude with Breeders Plate winner Murtajill and unbeaten Hurried Choice among the certain runners.
Hayes will also start Superfly in the Silver Slipper. Apprentice Tim Clark has the mount.

Solo Flyer ready for the autumn

Trainer Anthony Cummings has no doubts his juvenile Solo Flyer is a Group 1 horse – but it may not be the Golden Slipper that is the ultimate aim.
Solo Flyer was looking the goods before his Magic Millions 10th last month when the horse was stripped in running and lost all chance.

He runs on Saturday at Rosehill in the Silver Slipper with Zac Purton to ride and Cummings liked the youngster's worked with the older Global One at Randwick this morning.
The pair finished together after 800m in 51.1 on the course proper with a final furlong of 11.9 with the gallop witnessed by owner Julia Ritchie.
"Solo Flyer just might not be a 1200m horse so a race like the Sires Produce might be a more reasonable target down the track," Cummings said.
"Time will be final judge but he has more than pleased since he's had a few weeks off after the Magic Millions and I am expecting him to run a good race on Saturday – but he will be a better horse for the run."

Can Miss Watagan complete the next chapter of the fairytale

One of the most interesting runners at Rosehill on Saturday is the undefeated Queensland two-year-old Mis Watagan who will line up in the $200,000 G2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m).
The multiple listed winner comes out of the stable of a self proclaimed hobby trainer, Gary Bein who has only has a small team in work.
”I’m just a truck driver that trains a few for a hobby,” Bein said.
”I’ve only got four or five horses of my own, I don’t train for anyone else.
”She’s easily the best horse I’ve ever had.
”In the past I’ve only ever had very mediocre horses that win around Toowoomba and Ipswich and out in the bush.
”I’ve struck a good one here so I’ll give her every opportunity.”
Bein and Miss Watagan have been in Sydney for just over a week after she cruised to an easy victory in a 900m barrier trial at Doomben on February 6 and he has been very happy with how the filly has settled into her new surrounds at Rosehill.
”She is extremely well and hasn’t left an oat,” he said.
”She is pretty forward and tomorrow I’ll give her a good hit out on the course proper and then just give her an easy time until Saturday.”
Miss Watagan faces a tough Sydney initiation in the Silver Slipper with the likes of Breeders Plate winner Murtajill, Gimcrack Stakes winner Hurried Choice and Magic Millions runner-up Husson Lightning among the nominations but Bein is chomping at the bit to give the filly her chance.
”She does race very well fresh,” he said.
”There are some very smart horses in the race on Saturday.
”A bloke rang me earlier today and said this is nearly a Golden Slipper field, he said your only missing a few horses.
”So it should give me a good guide where she sits in the big picture.
”Her next run will be in the Reisling in three weeks time and that would top her off for a run in the Slipper if she’s up to it.
”It’s all very exciting and the attention doesn’t bother me, I just want to enjoy the ride, who knows when it will happen again.”

Payne believes he’s made the right choice

Randwick trainer David Payne has elected to bring Queensland based jockey Brad Pengelly to Rosehill on Saturday to partner his undefeated filly Hurried Choice in the $200,000 G2 Silver Slipper over 1100m.
”Brad rides as good as any of them and by using him he will commit to whenever I want him,” Payne said.
”With the Slipper around the corner most of the jockeys are searching for what they believe are the best mounts and they will chop and change on you which is understandable but it doesn’t help us trainers so it’s a win win situation as far as I see it.”

The winner of the Gimcrack Stakes, Hurried Choice resumed from a spell with a tough win at Rosehill three weeks ago and Payne is happy with the filly’s progress since that run.
”She’s good and I’m very pleased with how she has come on,” he said.
”She will only improve and get better it just depends how many lengths better.
”Saturday will give us a good idea where she is at as it is more or less the Slipper field, there are only a handful missing.
”It’s a real tough race but she will run well.
”I haven’t set any future plans after Saturday, Ill just see how she goes and then decide.”
Payne’s other Stakes runner on Saturday is More Than Lucky who takes her place in the $100,000 G3 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m).
More Than Lucky surprised everyone including her trainer when she produced a bottler first-up from a spell to finish third behind Mentality in the $200,000 G2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) on February 3.
”She ran much better than I expected,” he said.
”She has always shown me she is better than average but that was a weight-for-age group race for the open class sprinters not a fillies and mares handicap.
”I’ve kept her pretty fresh since then for the 1300m but if she can reproduce her Expressway run she would have to be a good chance in this.”

Munce the key to Lightning

David Hayes traveling foreperson Lizzie Jelfs sees Chris Munce as the key factor for Husson Lightning’s all-important Rosehill engagement tomorrow.
The magic Millions runner-up clashes with Breeders Plate winner Murtajill in the 1100m Silver Slipper Stakes, which will have a definite bearing on Golden Slipper markets.
Jelfs says Husson Lightning has thrived since arriving in Sydney from the Gold Coast.
“This horse is still a fair way off his grand final so David does not have him at his top for Saturday, Jelfs said.
“He’s trained very well in the past 10 days and with Chris having the ride I think that is a huge plus.
“Husson Lightning was a little tardy at the start in the Magic Millions but Chris’s aggressive style from the barriers will really help.”
Husson Lightning, in the Millions, had to be stoked in the first 300m to utilise his good draw, which detracted from his finishing sprint when he burst into the clear at the 250m and for a few strides was being hailed the winner.
A clean get away tomorrow and he is sure to test Murtajill’s ability.

MURTAJILL was so impressive on debut. was wide, on pace and still won by 1.5L. if he runs like that again, he'll win

HUSSON LIGHTNING is a smart one, but MURTAJILL had him more than covered

SUPERFLY could run real well. i had her blackbooked after her trial and debut run
