Simon Dwyer fund

Well lasts night piss poor crowd of 7000 odd has done f**k all to help raise much needed funds for Simon.

Perhaps the club should run the campaign again at another Home game, to try and make up the difference.

I actually lay most of the blame squarely at the feet of the Wests Tigers management. Putting our team riddled with injuries and being hammered in the media, up against the Storm on a Monday night was never going to draw a decent sized crowd.

Who is the f**king muppet who came up with that idea?

This falls on Grant Mayer.
It was done as kneejerk reaction to the support for Alex McKinnons career ending injury and they rushed it in, obviously for club PR more than anything else.
Half assed attempt.

and consequently, it's made the club look like it doesn't really give a shit about Dwyer.

For sure.
We've had years to do this for Dwyer but a fortnight after rise for Alex round is trying to ride the gravy train of support.
Pathetic actions of whoever thought this was a good idea. Maybe the actions of a rattled CEO trying to preserve his position at the club?
I wouldn't be surprised.

To be fair they also raised $200k++ at the function on Friday night, so it's not all bad.

That is a great achievement, but it comes years too late.

It still doesn't take away from the fact that the selection of this game to raise funds (which was not solely the intention - that was to try and get a big crowd at Campbelltown by using an indirectly condescending tactic) was a very poor decision.

As others have said, the Dwyer Fund looks like a piss-take. It looks like a knee-jerk reaction in that the Wests Tigers have gone; "Oh f**k, everyones looking after Mckinnon, we better look after our own blokes". This incident happened 3 years ago. it's a disgrace it has taken this long. It is also a disgrace Dwyer will probably be on the dole next year (as Tuiaki is), because the club do not want to offer him another contract doing a menial job. Give him 100k a year to be an ambassador of the club, visit schools and be an all round club legend. Do the same for Tuiaki. It is the right thing to do.

Who will pay them to do that?

he'd probably make more as a bouncer in the city.

Tuiaki only has one arm?

Oh yeah. Wrong guy.
I remember reading somewhere that Tuiaki can't stand up for a long period without suffering chronically the next day.
Driving is probably best suited to him. Keeps him off the ankle.
