Gagai as good as gone IMO. Gids off to the ESL.
Sione to centre, mamo or ross to fb, pat and chanel in NSW cup.

Hopefully some money left for props and/or a half.

I think so too. Stone has a huge task for next season recruitment wise cos his entire head coach career goes on the line in 2016. Very few get the second chance he has albeit an argument can be made he should never have been demoted to begin with. Add the fact he will need to re-sign the Sims boys as well and it is going to be interesting. I really feel Rick will be a success this time. I never rated him that highly but he has it in him to be a top level coach for years to come. He has a real drive this time.

Snowden off contract too, but probably not much of a market for a prop with a bad back so should be much cheaper this time around.

I want to see us make a play at Matulino personally. We had him on the books until he got cold feet. He was 17 at the time. Home sick I presume.

Honestly I think we'll be lucky if we just manage to re-sign Snowden (and that's simply because he really doesn't want to leave and isn't in great form). I imagine we'll probably get around 800k freed up when Gids and Smith go but all of that will go to upgrading the Mata'utias contracts. There's no way we'd have enough money to make a prop worth feeding even consider letting his manager take our call.

Dogs offering 450k a year for sione.
Pat should be on a second tier deal and chanel min wage (any more for a backup winger is crazy).

But because the knights are the knights, 800k total for sure.

Saying that though you never know. After the Broncos shafted his cousin and childhood mate Gagai might not be too keen to get back up there. Stone said last year he saw Gagai strongly in his future plans so if the Brisbane move wasn't a sure thing I say he'd definitely be offered a contract regardless of the Mata'utias. Remember Gidley will probably leave in 2015 too (fingers crossed) and that will leave us without a fullback and a centre if Gagai goes too and Sione can only play one.

Dane's younger brother Jacob has been named at 5/8th for the Broncos NYC this weekend.

Judging by that article in the Tele about Mamo I hope we're not going to lose everyone to accommodate the Mata'utias (when two of them are reserve graders/back ups).

Sione will likely take Gagai's spot but I'm pretty sure Chanel and Pat can only play in one position each and will be back ups. I hope they don't get paid the money a genuine FG mainstay would.

Not sure anyone has any evidence either way tbh but rather just making a supposition based on his age and previous statement that Gids wanted to have a crack at the ESL

I honestly think we'll keep all 3 Mat boys and Mamo. With the likeliness of Gagai moving on and Gids hopefully off to the ESL/retiring it leaves a centre and fullback spot open. We all know that Gids will also get injured at some point this year so someone ig going to have a crack at it soon.

Our big issue is a decent goal kicker if Gids is not on the paddock. Roberts has been pretty average for us as a fill in

Is this the same story about Mamo?
http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl...-at-nrl-football/story-e6frf3su-1227209658051

To me, this seems to add to evidence that Kids will not re-sign. Mamo to fullback next year?

Yeah, that's the one. I'm personally hoping that the club do know that Kurt is moving on at the end of the year but are just choosing not to announce it for a while. I actually think he's a very decent fullback but he won't be around much longer either way and we really need his money to retain Sione. He's the priority. He gives us a centre if Gagai's leaving and also a fullback option if Mamo doesn't work out.

Either way I really hope Gids does what's right for the club and works out what he's doing fast so we don't lose everyone while he's in limbo.

Not that I wish anything bad on the bloke but Gidley injuring himself and leaving would benefit the club more than him playing the full year. Mamo to fullback, Captain Mullen. If we can keep all of them, in two years time our backline would be insane and really young with only Jimmy likely to be the old head.

Mamo, McManus, S Matautia, Leilua, C Matautia is a strong backline.

Talking to Sione at the members function this morning and he said boot was off yesterday and will definitely play round 1 of picked.

You would think he has indicated that he is staying if they pick him in the first grade team...... Why would they give him more first grade experience if he and his brothers are just going to jump shop at the end of the year.

Another way to look at it may be that he's unlikely to stay if we don't pick him in first grade.

Having lived in both sydney and newcastle I would find it hard to believe anyone would prefer to live in Sydney.
