Sleeping giants

Over the past 2 seasons the Canterbury bulldogs have lived up to this very phrase and description by drawing huge crowds of 40k/50k/60k at Accor as their form and on field performances have improved and this got me thinking to which other currently underperforming teams in the NRL could copy and follow this in the NRL?

which teams have the biggest latent support base?

Tigers?

dragons?

eels?

souths?

Are you being serious here or am I missing an obvious joke??
I'm being serious.
I think Parra would be the winner here anyway, but I also think they should have a unit inside the leagues club that is trying to convert the big Indian and Chinese community to Eels fans.
Gould did a particularly good job this year apparently engaging with the Dogs fans who are Muslim. Similar Parra could/should focus in on Indian and Chinese .

The big challenge with Indian fans is getting them to care about anything that isn’t cricket.

Ok, cool. My apologies.

converting the big Indian and Chinese communities over to the eels and RL in general would be huge.

Yeah those multicultral days in the 1990s did nothign to attract the Muslim population.

Titans are a sleeping giant they would be huge with a sustained run of finals appearances. People tend to overlook the potential of the Titans being a big club because of propaganda in the media about Gold Coast being an AFL town.
I was hesitant of putting the titans on my list for the simple reason that from what I’ve heard there’s a large already existing RL fanbase on the Gold Coast who already have their own NRL team other than the titans.

on paper the titans have everything going for them to be a huge club.
