The buck stops at the feet of the Chairman of the Board. He and his fellow Board members hire the coach and sign off on most contracts.

Sloan should model his defense on that of Dylan Edwards at the Panthers before demanding a first-grade spot.
All of Penrith players are coached to perfection in attack and defence right across the whole of the club's grades. They have been able to have the right coaches and conditioners employed at the club since Hook's departure and have worked to streamline all facets of the game to suit most situations. They just know what to do and get the players in tip top condition for the full season.

It takes a lot of hard work and thought and effort to make the club successful from the top to the bottom. Most of these players have been developed to achieve a winning formula.

Getting players here, there and everywhere just doesn't cut the mustard. Building a team with the right players with the right attitude and abilities is all it takes.

We have not built a strong enough foundation on which to build solid teams in all our grades and unless there is this desire from the heavies at the club we cannot erect anything on those foundations. It has to start sometime and will take a few years so I hope that will happen.

Sadly Dave we have become an amateur run n administered Club living off former glory days
The way we are managed we cant match it with the likes of Penrith , Roosters , Melbourne etc etc
Penrith have won all four NSW trophies and systems are in place through out the Club
Like for like replacements who know their role without fuss or bother
What do we do ?????? We pick any nomads , journeyman , retirees that come on the market without thought or purpose
A complete over haul is required but am fearing its all too late

I think the moneyball policy that the Dragons used was not a bad idea as a transitional & cultural changeover, aligned with Pathways. The problem is injuries/suspensions at the wrong time and a coach who didn't have the guts to implement it and pick the young players over the journeymen. Playing favourites with has beens also hasn't helped things

So you would think that after so many failed seasons in recent years, why would we return to the well of untried old boys for head coach:
Price
Mary
Dean Youg ?????

“That’s where people get it twisted, they think it’s Cody Ramsey v Sloan but we’re a team together.”

"He’s in my corner and I’m in his corner."

You love to see it. It really seems like he has matured a lot since last year.

So now Sloan admits he was kicking stones and blaming everyone else for his attitude.

He even thanks Hook for dropping him and says Hook is not only a straight shooter who doesn’t lie but is in fact a great man.

So we know have a mentally tougher player who has matured and eventually found a way to listen.

Such revelations from Sloan might prove to be wrist slitting reading for the Hook is a dinosaur with the youngsters brigade.

Maybe a potential one hit wonder might have just become a classic for the ages.

Good luck to you young fellow you seem to be growing into your skin.

Kudos to him.
Hopefully for him & us he has a very good career.

Big Gus was supposedly after Bud

Big Wayne was supposedly after Sloan

While ever there was interest Hook was a dinosaur, a this and a that, plus some

So when young blokes egos are pandered too it’s tantrum time and when that all stops and reality sets in evidently a few home truths ain’t so bad.

Player manager’s are the scum of the earth.

Sounds good but rather a story like this came out half way through the season after he had the runs on the board , as it just ramps up the pressure of expectation a bit more. If he and Bud have good to very good seasons it will have make an enormous difference to where we end up on the table.
