^Exactly. Had they bought in someone like Cornette or Larry Sweeney, theres no doubt he would have gotten over.

I doubt that very much. He's had many pushes and done nothing. He has ZERO charisma. Adding a manager onto him wouldn't mean that automatically people would care about him.

He's like Daniels - a very good in-ring worker that people don't give a crap about. Which is very sad.

They're doing a stellar job of booking Swagger's title run  It reminds me of CM Punk and Rey Mysterio's title runs, in that he never seems to win. I like Swagger and would like to see him booked as a champion - but the WWE seems intent on weakening him through booking rather than establishing him as a main eventer.

Another reason why MitB is a flawed concept.

Nothing wrong with Money in the Bank. No reason they have to win the title whenever they cash in, and certainly no reason to cash in within a few days/weeks of winning under the exact same circumstances as the last guy who was booked horrendously as a result of winning.

Seriously, it stinks of lazy booking. With the exception of Rob Van Dam - every single MITB cash in has been basically the same opportunistic crap that leaves the apparently talentless WWE writers scratching their heads about how to make the guy over.

Why not have him cash in, lose, and earn a repeat chance? Why not have him spend some time feuding his way towards the main event and when he's over enough, then have him be an opportunist? Have him cash it in for an actual match against the a fit champion? Have him feud over the briefcase with whoever it was he beat to snatch it?

There are plenty of ways to use the 'guaranteed title shot' in a way that elevates the guy. Royal Rumble manages to do it every year. King of the Ring, for the most part, managed it too.

Maybe if they used guys already on the verge of stardom rather than guys with no other Mania match, they'd have better results? And, as I said, actually booked them in a way that was in any way unique.

Before I go into why I think Money in the Bank is farcical I would like to make another point.

The entire World Heavyweight title concept is ludicrous. Having two champions hurts the integrity of a championship win, hurts the drawing power of said champion and makes for situations where the likes of Sheamus, Swagger and Punk receive the championship way before they deserve to.

A World Champion should be that, they should be the undisputed best wrestler in the world and not a joke. Just by giving a guy a championship does not mean that they will get over with the fans.

Money in the Bank is a concept that's past it's used by date. When it first came in, the idea was fresh and was executed well in terms of promotion and overall execution.

The second didn't have as strong a promotion BUT the execution was quite good with RVD forcing Cena to defend his championship on a show he otherwise would not appear on.

However after Wrestlemania XXIII the entire concept had degenerated and the idea that a wrestler actually challenges a champion fairly became silly. Why would a wrestler who had gone through hell throw away such an opportunity?

It was good while it lasted BUT it needs to go. After five years, it's time to come up with a new idea to promote promising talents into the main event.

And Edge's first run at MITB was well booked.... He was, in my opinion around the Midcard to just hitting upper when he won it, and he got built up with feuds against Matt Hardy, and Ric Flair, before winning the next year around 9 months down the track. Although he lost it I think it was like 3 weeks later, it still put him in the upper to main event section of the WWE, and made him the number 1 heel in the WWE at that time.

Only problem with Edge's first run was the timing. He won the title 3 weeks before Royal Rumble, which was the last PPV for Raw before Mania. So he either had to
1. Drop the title at the rumble
2. Drop the title on Raw (which barely ever happens, apart from cash ins)
3. Main event Mania (which he wasn't ready for yet)

MITB has run it's course I think. King of the Ring would be a good way to build up a new star, or something similar. Just a side note on MITB, Edge has been involved in all 6 cash ins in some way.
2005: Cashed in on Cena
2006: Speared Cena, so RVD could pin him
2007: Cashed in on Taker
2008: Punk cashed in on him
2009: Lost to Hardy in a ladder match, Punk cashed in straight away
2010: Beat down Jericho, Swagger cashed in on him as a result

By Marc Middleton
May 25, 2010 - 11:33:17 PM

Thanks to Drew Acklin & Wrestlingnewsworld.com for the following SmackDown tapings to air this Friday:

* It's announced that Kane will take on CM Punk and Rey Mysterio will take on The Undertaker. Both of the winners will face Big Show and Jack Swagger in a Fatal Four Way Match for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Fatal Four Way next month.

* It's announced due to Matt Hardy's actions at WWE Over The Limit, he is suspended indefinitely.

* WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston & Big Show b. World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger & Drew McIntyre after Show hit the knockout punch on McIntyre.

* Christian & Hornswoggle vs. Dolph Ziggler & Chavo Guerrero is announced for later tonight.

* CM Punk b. Kane after hitting GTS. Punk botched GTS badly two times and he received a lot of heat from the crowd not because of being over but because he couldn't properly execute his finisher. Kane completely flopped out of it after the second attempt which was followed by a pinfall.

* Christian & Hornswoggle b. Chavo Guerrero & Dolph Ziggler after Christian hit the Kill Switch on Chavo.

* The Undertaker b. Rey Mysterio. Undertaker displayed some ring rust and both were off. After the match, Jack Swagger came out and starting beating up on Mysterio. R-Truth, MVP, Christian, JTG and Matt Hardy came out and beat up on Swagger to end the show.

SoR-Truth, MVP, Christian, JTG and Matt Hardy came out and beat up on Swagger to end the show.

So they decided, "Hey - let's have the champ be beaten down 25-on-one, despite the fact he's better than all those guys beating him down!"

I liked Kane going off at the start of the latest show, only part I got to see though.

It's good they are actually doing something with Kane. Considering they wouldn't have had much time to come up with the story line I think the WWE did a good job of it
