MELBOURNE Storm captain Cameron Smith has been found guilty at an NRL judiciary hearing tonight and will miss the rest of this season.
The decision is a body-blow to the Storm's hopes of successive premierships.
Smith fronted the judiciary tonight charged with a grapple tackle on Brisbane forward Sam Thaiday last weekend.
The Storm skipper pleaded not guilty but the NRL judiciary believed otherwise, suspending him for two games.
Smith will now miss Friday night's grand final qualifier against Cronulla at the SFS.
He would also be unavailable for the grand final, should Melbourne progress by beating the Sharks.
Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy now has three choices as his replacement hooker _ Billy Slater, Russ Aitken and Matt Geyer.
