- Last year 10-12 average players signed.

It's obvious Smith is going for quality over quantity with recruiting this season, at least lets give him credit for that.

I'd say there won't be any bargain buying this time, any small change could be used on keeping promising juniors or maybe guys like Stapo, Prince?

This is probably the first time in a while we've had room under the cap to buy anything more than 'bargains'.

Also....its there are a lot more quality players not just on the market but changing clubs than there have been in recent years - other than our own players of course!

Of that lot I would only be interested in either Rieck or Hookey, as we have more than enough forwards and those two have a fair amount of experience in the position that we are lacking the most.

Matt Rieck (Sharks) - I’d rather not. If he saw me near the front of the stands again, I don’t think I’d live through it. You see, when we played the Sharks last year and got that emphatic 74-4 victory, I kinda jinxed him every opportunity I got. And he turned around and gave a nasty stare …
Luke Williamson (Manly) – he’s not that good though
Nick Bradley-Qalilawa(Manly) – see Williamson
Jamie Fitzgerald(Knights) - ??? don’t know about him
Justin Murphy(Warriors) – perhaps
Neil Sweeney(North Qld) - possbibly
Michael Meigan(North Qld) – don’t know much about him
