If you can't be positive and upbeat before a ball is kicked what's the pharken point?.

Exactly !

Our team will come out later & their will be critics internal & external, saying we are ordinary but when we add Lewis, Tupou, Robson, (& possibly Carney / Heighnington) to the list, our squad will be very strong.

There will be no easy games against us. Other teams will know that they've played us, win, lose or draw.

To be fair Newms... id take the players in bold... not necessarily in those positions.

PS is that the offical team, cos i need to do some fantasy adjustments (no cornish)

I would take the ones in Bold Too. Better than bog average. Campese ok and I would take Lee too.

How many of our starting 17 would you put in BOLD? Gall, Fifita,Gordon,Graham? Not much difference. TC wont play.

Milford is a gun and I would love him here next to TC, who I would move to HB.

Let's not forget , many tipping the Raiders for the spoon! Most teams except
Parra have 4 Bold players. Our strength is we have a high number of nearly bolds. We have Lewis to come back and TC, 5 standouts at full strength

Just thought Stains probably only have 3. Good thread.

I think Taga might be bold this year...hoping he steps up a notch or 2 & becomes more consistent.

Our Bold Players:

Fifita
Carney
Gallen
Lewis
Taga
Graham

There's six.

BTW, what have Robinson and Wighton ever done? They are running on nothing but potential at the moment.

I think Prior is going to surprise he played in busted team for 2 years and worked hard, coming to us can only improve, hoping he is the next Lance Thompson

I agreed mess, I haven't ever taken much notice of him but I liked him in the 9s....except when he dropped the f**king ball over the line in a 1 on 1.

Welcome to the Sharks

I think Taga is in the same category 'running on potential'. Robinson maybe not but Wighton widely regarded as a potential origin player. I know Campese not held in high regard but both him and Fensom go well I reckon. Mcrone has his days too. Probably no more if Sticky continues his merry ways.

Everything is relative boys.

Let's have a look at the side Ricky Stuart is wheeling out for the Faders.

Raiders: 1. Anthony Milford 2. Reece Robinson 3. Jarrod Croker 4. Matt Allwood 5. Edrick Lee 6. Jack Wighton 7. Terry Campese (C) 8. Dane Tilse 9. Glen Buttriss 10. Brett White 11. Josh Papalii 12. Joel Edwards 13. Shaun Fensom
Interchange: 14. Josh McCrone 15. Jarrad Kennedy 16. Paul Vaughan 17. Shannon Boyd 18. Mark Nicholls

Bog average in every position. Raiders fans have the right to be negative before a ball is kicked. Not us.
Ya reckon? FMD any side with Milford & Whighton in it hs to be above average. Throw that freak Edrick lee in the mix. 3 very good back rowers.
Sorry I dont share your confident negativity towards the Raiders team at all.

We will finish 4th & win it.
Our team is good. Strongest depth we have ever had. The NSW cup win last year should not be under estimated.
We will be fine through Origin because we will only miss Fafita. Thats if you listen to this forum because everybody thinks Gal is no good anyway.
We have excellent backups in every position now.
We will start with a stutter, get used to the rules then absolutley smash our way home.

And they win down here also more than they lose. I got a theory about that. Probably bullshit but it is the only ground that any of the NRL teams play on that is way ( i mean way) above sea level. Its about 1500 feet maybe 2000 and I reckon it knokcs teams up. Anyway that aside the team is sound enough allright and Rick is back at his spirital and actual home. Theyll be dangerous. Id love their outside backs.

We're definitely contenders, only injuries stand in the way of us giving it a good shake, in saying that I worry about our halves situation for the first few rounds. I'll say 4-5th after Round 26.

Interesting theory vin. Only thing is, wouldn't the consistent altitude training also assist the raiders when they play other teams at sea level? I don't know if that's the case. They never seem to have standout fitness.

On our season, I think we'll make the bottom half of the 8 and likely be out first week of finals. I just hope this ASADA crap stops dragging on. Just get it done so everyone, particularly the players, can move on. The other thing I'd love to see is Lichaa, Brown and Holmes get some game time.

you are correct to a degree Fizz. The most noticeable part of the altitude is the distance the kicks go. Dropouts go 60m + easily.
Raiders still ahe to be a decent team to get the cookies though.

Looking through the other teams, I don't see any that are any better than ours.

Haven't seen the Roosters, mind you.

I thought a lot of the teams looked quite ordinary. Plenty of early season injuries hurting teams like Souths, Manly and , storm.

Our team was predictable. I would have preferred Ricky L over Jono Wright and would like to see what Lichaa has at NRL level.

If Carney plays we should win. If not, who knows

Yeah Mad and Reef, i'm not sure about my theory to be honest. Id be much more certain if the Mucus ran over the top of sides regularly at home, but that doesn't really happen. I spoke to a chap who is heavily involved with the club and he couldn't put his finger on why Bruce is such a god damn fortress. The best he could come up is opposing teams have an image of Canberra in winter in their heads and that's enough to put them off. He reckons the cold doesn't really worry sides anymore because they warm up and hit the field in the right "shape" as he put it.
