So who are the best spinners around at the moment?

I don't know much about these Paki spinners but they've had a great series.

Are they as good as the results have suggested? or england would rather be somewhere else and Monty was taking wickets as well.

Actually what are the world rankings on spinners like at the moment.

Would it be

1. Vettori (How long has he got left & is he as effective as he once was)
2. Swann
3. ??????

Beyond that I have no idea. I haven't even seen the Banga spinner, Shakib Al Hasan. Mendis and Harbhajan seem to be off the picture.

I'd say the spinning stocks around the world aren't great (apart from England and Pakis) so it's not just an Aussie problem.

What do you guys reckon?

I thought Tahir would be up there when he started playing test cricket and he was particularly effective in the world cup, but he hasn't done anything yet in real cricket

You are right with the assertion that the spinning ranks are at a low ebb..

The geriatrics in the Big Bash showed most of the current test guys up as hacks..

Ajmal is the best bowler of any kind in the world ATM, in my opinion.

The next best spinners, I'd say Swann, Rehman and Vettori.

Interesting there aren't a lot of successful wrist spinners out there right now. Bishoo and Tahir are promising but not there yet.
