So, who's going to Melbourne?

Hi guys...the new stadium is great.

You won't need to get to the game too early as it will not sell out.

Food prices are on par with any other ground however they normally do not serve full strength beer if it is a day game.

The stadium is just across the road from the MCG and right next to Olympic Park...easy to get to.

There are a few good bars on Swan St which is a 5 min walk to the ground.

Will I be able to get full strength beer in the stadium if I go when there's no game on?

I'm pretty sure they sell full strength beer for any game at the bubble dome. The definitley sell bundy and coke in the red or black bundy varietys, vodka and something fizzy, and at least two other full strength spirit mixes that come in cans (they pour them into a plastic cup for you.)

The food and drink service there is a million times better than Parra stadium or homebush. They have a good system and the lines move quick.

Just remember when you're looking at seats the first 6-10 rows are exposed to the open air so you'll get wet if it rains. In Melbourne there is always a 100% chance of it possibly raining for up to or around 0-70% of the day. Check the forecast if you have the luxury.

As someone else said it wont sell out so dont worry too much. Me and the mrs will be there you will be able to tell its us cause of the unexpectedly high pitched "goooo jarrrryyyyyddddd" scream that comes out of her mouth, which I fully endorse.

Actually if you risk the weather or have a pocket poncho, front row seats are really excellent, only a few metres from the field and at a perfect eye level.

i was surprised a few years ago when i went to the melbourne cup all of the services there were better than any sydney ground or stadium ive been to with a much bigger crowd we could learn a lot from them

i live in melbs too, i reckon you guys should grab a chicken parma and a few pints at the corner hotel rooftop beergarden before the game, it would be great to see the place covered in blue and gold before the game and then march on down to aami park like we own the place!!

i cant wait it will be the first regular season match in melbourne since 2007 and the new stadium is very impressive like a mini suncorp stadium, there is not a bad seat in the place

I'll be there in Melbourne. Will be my first match of the year after missing the opening rounds being at the World Cup in India - hopefully (but very unlikely) seeing England take another trophy home with them. ;-)

ok friends, this is just around the corner

is there some sort of pre-organised category 1 bay that we could turn blue and gold for this game? im about to get my tickets and as it it the first regular season match that the eels have played in melbourne since 2007 it would be nice not to be tucked away in the designated "away fans" area...

all the same it doesnt really matter where i sit, ill see you guys at the beer garden of the corner hotel for a couple of jugs and a parma, carn you eels!

My plan is to just buy tickets at the gate on match day, and sit where ever I can find the most Eels fans.
Oh, that's after I've been to that balcony beer garden at the Corner Hotel.
