I think its time we start bombarding the relevent bodies,on social media, about the lack of announcements about the big 3's 2018,2019 & 2020 seasons...

Ive just hit them all up on twitter, the RFL,NZRL,NRL* & RLIF

*can't find the ARLC? do they have a seperate one to the NRL & Kangaroos?..

Anyway...bomb them with messages..

I'm happy with us playing a series against the kiwis every year.
If the Aussies can't be arsed that's their bad luck.

Ahh the much hyped 8 year calendar which will probably never come to fruition because Australia doesn't feel like it.

The calendar is fine from 2021 on wards...its the next 3 years the big 3 are dragging their heals about...

Theres a RLIF meeting in a couple of weeks, hopefully it'll get sorted then?

So what are we hoping for anyway?

I'd hope for
- an overall increase in the number of tests played - I doubt we'll get it.
- a 2019 tournament featuring top 3 nations v 'tier 2s' - I know we won't get it.
- an extensive qualification process for 2021 - who knows?

Really expecting more of the same.

2018 - england v nz test series , australia/RLPA want a year off

2019 - can see there being some kind of 4nations with the big 3 plus 1 ? or maybe australia & nz have a series ?and england will host 3 teams for a 4 team comp?

2020 - england v australia ashes series with tour games v wales, scotland & ireland to celebrate 125years of RL in the uk

id be happy with that

The RLPA thing shits me to no end. It would be good (relatively speaking) if Aus could play England and NZ even once each, they still get a long pointless offseason then.

2018 - hopefully aside from that tour/series England and NZ manage to fit in at least a couple of games against the likes of Samoa, Fiji, Scotland, France, USA, etc.
Those nations should compete in improved (aka marketed and televised) Regional (Pacific, European, American, Africa-Asia) Cups, with proper squads.

2019 - If the long term plan is an 8N, I'd hope they could put together a 6N series as a preliminary step. Aus NZ Eng + 2018s Euro, Pacific, American champs.

2020 - Qualifiers and Aus->UK tour sounds like a good idea.

Thing with 2019 is why would the RFL,OZ & NZ organize a large comp like that..its not for them to bare that burden anymore, thats what they'll say anyway

Spud, the ARLC is just the board of the NRL. They aren't a governing body. The NRL is the governing body for RL in Australia.

It is quite confusing at first, with the NRL being the name of the highest competition as well as the governing body for all of rugby league in Australia. But nevertheless, you won't find an ARLC Twitter account.

Playing devils advocate when i ask that cos if some kid types into google anything about the ARLC this should flash up lol..

But it is all arse over tit the way its down there..

The ARLC should be the overall governing body, responsible for everything..and the NRL board run the actual comp..

But anyway...

The ARLC is just like the old ARL board, except independent now.
Then they decided to re brand everything in AUS, which I actually like purely for competing with AFL. For too long they puffed their numbers up and got more gov funding for stadiums and grass roots when their sport was actually much smaller in most places.
