The figures pretty much show that Morris is taking on a more defensive role in the halves, barely running the ball, or taking dummy half runs. Thats not a bad thing if we had some more playmakers to make up for his defensive approach

Heighington is a legend, most tackles, most hit ups, most meters, most minutes for a forward. Just wish some of the others will follow his lead, he has stepped up to the mark this year with Boof gone.

John Morris is a good willing defender, but you can`t play anyone in the halves just based on their defence. He`s never really been a playmaker and has now lost any confidence that he ever had, the only use for him is possibly as a centre or he would still go ok at other clubs as a hooker ala Shaun Berrigan.

I saw Morris at hooker against soufs. Jesus I know I have been spoilt/blessed/lucky enough to see Elias and Farah and many others suffer in comparison but Morris is almost as big a mong at hooker as he is at halfback. He is garbage. Danny Galea can tackle as well. We may as well have played him at half back

Yeah i agree he looked very slow and out of touch even at hooker, but he just looks like a bloke who knows he`s no longer wanted and doesn`t really want to be here himself. In the right environment he can play the game, but he was braught to us for the wrong reasons and his confidence is now shot because of it.

There were some other stats in todays Telegraph, basically a best & worst of.

Taniela Tuiaki has scored the least # of tries for a winger, 4 in 18 games (tied with Paul Mellor but he is playing finals footy). Israel Folau 21 tries, played every game.

Robbie Farah is the worst goalkicker at 57%. Michael Witt best at 94%.

Dene Halatau has the the least # of offloads for any forward this season, 1 offload in 21 games. Anthony Tupou had the most offloads.

Interestingly, Scott Prince has missed the most # of tackles throughout the season.

The Tigers didnt really feature in any of the "best of" categories so nothing to report.

he still got into the top 10 at the Dally M's
i'd take that in a halfback anyday over defence

So he should.....I mean a player that cannot tackle HAS to have an extraordinary attacking ability...otherwise they play in the park.

The statistics that I think are most concerning is the Effective Tackle %

I'm in the process of getting all the stats for all the players, so as to make a fair comparison, but in previous years, sides who had most of their players with an effective tackle % higher than 87% were usually the sides going into the finals with a real chance of going all the way.

To see that we only had 4 out of all 26 First Graders this season actually have a % higher than 87% is not a good sign. Moreso, the fact that our key playmaker all year had to do the most defensive work shows that our forwards aren't getting in and helping out defensively as much as they should. Morris had a decent % for a 5/8, but Marshall and Hodgson were woeful in defence, and if McDonnell is being tipped to replace Hodgson at fullback, then we really are in the sh*t.

Farah leads the way in tackles made, effective tackle %, try assists, kicks as well as being up there for off loads and tackle breaks, indicates he's doing far more work than he really needs to be doing.

Whatuira's stats prove that he didn't do much all year in offense or defence
