The AFL is like an average chick who has had several plastic surgery operations to make her look hot. She dresses like a model, so to those who only pay attention to surface qualities, they think she is the best looking thing going around. But if people spend enough time around her, they begin to see that in a lot of cases she exaggerates or is outright talking shit ("I'm famous in every capital city, people know me overseas, people only have to see me once and they fall in love with me" etc). Unfortunately, too many people are only concerned with the superficial, so any attack on her (to them) appears to be jealous bitching.
The NRL is like a girl with a cracking body and the face of a cover girl, but she's lazy and would rather dag around in Target clothes all day long. She rarely bothers to do her hair or wear makeup, so many people write her off as "average" because they don't look past their immediate, superficial reaction. Truth is, she has a lot of friends (from a wide variety of ethnicities and cultures, unlike AFL) and people overseas DO know who she is. But at the same time, she's not faultless. For too long, she's been lazy with her image, presuming that as long as the same bogans cruise past in their Clubsports and wolf whistle, then she doesn't have to aim any higher. It also doesn't help that for 15 years, her Uncle Rupert was siphoning a lot of money from her that she could have been using on clothes, makeup and anything else to boost her image. If NRL went shopping at the same stores the AFL has been and bothered to get her hair/ makeup and public image tended to by professionals, she could easily be a 10. She'd have guys in Porsches slowing down as they passed by. AFL would be bitching about her 24/7. But NRL firstly has to realise what she is capable of and act on it, because people are starting to grow bored of her doing the same old same old. I'll always love her for what she truly is, but the fact she continues to sell herself short is frustrating me and making me more interested in the sexy, exotic, Soccer sisters...
