Who cares. I song was better than 4. Then again, she's hotter than Meatloaf. Nicer tits. And almost as big.

The entertainment yesterday was perfect - it's not a concert - that crap from Meatloaf just went on and on and on.

Totally agree. AFL fans don't get screwed with their coverage of the grand final like we do in Melbourne.

Really?

AFL fans were subjected to poorly choreographed entertainment, no lead-up/reserves game (that I saw anyway), a general lack of excitement, and all the while, four random blokes sitting in a studio which didn't even seem to be at the G.

At least with the NRL we got short, sharp, well choreographed entertainment, a solid tribute to retiring players, two great curtain raisers, brilliant atmosphere, and the Ch 9 team were actually AT the ground.

Sorry but yesterday's NRL Grand Final day, both broadcast and at the ground, was eons better than what the AFL dished up.

Usually the AFL score a bit better on the pre-match entertainment but this year Meatloaf was a laughing stock

Demetriou needs to stop using his record collection for GF entertainment ideas.

I thought the performances at yesterday's final were pretty good, although the blatant Telstra/Toyota brand placement was a bit off-putting. Especially when Telstra's logo was all over the field but there was bugger all mobile reception for their customers in the stands....

With Telstra, no problems whatsoever yesterday. Only issue was nearing fulltime my battery was near empty.

NRL's GF day a clear winner, not that I watched much AFL on saturday but watched a bit of it

It's just a shame the Channel 9 coverage failed to do it justice.

Ads galore.

On the AFL front, Meatloaf was the worst I've ever seen.

Appropriate for that particular code.

Toyota had a right to be there because of the Toyota Cup. I have no problem with the logos.

I do have a problem with Glen Munsies ugly dial and the "Wow - someone just put $40k on the Sea Eagles!" crap.

yep a cringe worthy moment when he came on, not a good look for the game imo.

The product placement of Telstra was well over the top, especially considering how much they are paying for it!

The anthems seemed good and didn't really watch the singers as was in the pub and more important things to be doing! What was the HT entertainment?

Same.

Toyota and Telstra pay for the show so they need a spot. I'm not into the gambling promo's. One reason is that I know the prices and know where to get better ones than Munsie is offering, and secondly because I don't think many people care about it. Of those that do care many are offended by it. I'm not sure what the average wage earner who doesn't gamble thinks about the $40k bets. Seems a bit polarising to me.

If they want more money just jam another beer advert in there, that doesn't bother anyone.

We were talking about it yesterday.
I think its a sad way to win 8000 by risking 40000, im sure those that do wouldnt get the satisfaction I myself would get if i won 8k
Yeh they most likely can afford to wager those amounts...but I imagine theyd be hollow victories in a way

Telstra get their sponsorship for a song.

I cringed when I saw all that Telstra advertising.

Maybe next time they will be forced to pay a fairer price, with the conflict of interest muppets out of the way.

Yeah thats what I objected to - the amount of Telstra advertising concidering how little they pay for the right.

Yeah....I'm sure picking up an easy 8K must make them feel real hollow.

1 - why wasn't a celebration of RL with teh 16 clubs cheeleaders all performing

2 - why not have teh 16 club clours on display with a simple 2m x 20m wide ribbon - all pointing towards the central Warriors v Manly symbol

3 - why did they need t oask Warriors fans in the crowd for flags ?? andthen couldn't figure out who they belonged to

4 - why couldn't the retiring players do a lap around the ground instead of 40m up the sideline

This is pretty much what I was referring to with the original post. Channel 9's coverage is pathetic. Someone tell me why we were watching Motorway Patrol for 20 mins when we could have jsut stayed with the build up.

I see they did the intro thing as well as giving the kids a ball after the game which is a good pick up from the AFL

Point 1 - due to the timing in NSW, we have to take the news at 4pm as the game is mid-play at 6pm. In QLD, the timing is such that 6:30pm news is an okay proposition. Hence the gap in programming. Not worth 9's time or resources to fill in the half hour, although arguably they could've put on a highlights package from the season rather than an irrelevant program.

The giving the kids a ball thing has been happening for a few years IIRC.
