a) "wrestling" how it was originally intended has an important place in rugby league. Putting a player on his back is integral in winning the battle of the ruck, and there's no danger or cheap tactics.

b) pedantic, but the article says it was Bellamy that brought in the wrestling coach
Doesnt matter to hanscholo,if its related to brisbane he will have a dig.

Clubs in the 80's were using wrestling coaches.

And none of you cockroach supporters cared when Storm's wrestling coach was used as a 'defensive' coach in the Blues origin camp.

Once again, sounds like sour grapes. Your team hasn't won a premiership for awhile eh guys? Having a sook are we?

Actually I seem to remember complaints and news articles about the wrestling bloke being brought in by Bellamy.

Meh this article going beyond the issue... This sh*t is boring to watch so the NRL need to brainstorm (lol) a way to make wrestling pointless. Whether that is playing a really short (8m) 10 metre with stricter tackle timelimit or whatever I am not sure. But hopefully they can do it before 2009 starts.

There's a big difference between wrestling and Brazilian Jujitsu. Wrestling is about gaining a dominant position, which is what most teams try to do. The storm use locks that are unique to brazilian Jujitsu. The grapple tackle is basically a modified guillotine choke which cuts off blood to the brain when used in MMA, and the chicken wing is a lock that utilises leverage to inflict pain against the joints, its not too dissimilar to an armbar that MMA fighters use to force submissions.

So bad have things become that Haseman, a mixed martial arts and cage fighter of international repute, said rugby league was giving wrestling a bad name.

Thank you Mr Bellamy.

Was he the one who taught Lockyer the grapple he used on Saturday?

Maybe he should make sure his own team is clean before he has a go at another.

Brillant post, Brett white on Nathan Cayless in last year's prelim anyone?

Sick of Waldron and Melbourne fans claiming they do nothing illegal.
