That's one of the reason's Balmain want's to merge the lower grades to save cost's but Wests Magpies won't have any part of it. :?

I played against jurniors kid last week (not sure if its this one? how many boys does he have?)

Anyway, he played 5/8th and was probably the best in their team along with their halfback..... but was nothing special. We shut them both down with ease, i even got a few tackles in there myself every time he tried to run it....

but to his credit, he chipped a nice one about 30 out and ran away under the post....... besides that.....nothing too special!

I guess the logic behind that is that Wests are trying to waste Balmain's money to a point that they won't be able to support there part of the JV and then of course that would invove Wests trying to buy out the contract of Balmain - or of course if thats not the reason they want to stand alone as much as possible

The one problem with that however is that the Wests Tigers won't be named anything but that till at least 2011 unless of course they fold and Wests re-apply for a licence on their own and the problem with that is at the moment with a few bids coming into play they all have more money than what Wests currently have.

The smart thing for Wests would be to merge PL only, but the chances of that happening are well not high at all - the funny thing is that Balmain gave them a chance but is good to see Wests offering some sort of a favor in return

Youre just guessing, offering conjecture and opinion......why dont you just try sticking to the facts.
Get some hard facts about Wests before you start to put shit on em.....for some reason I get the feeling you dunno what your talkin bout when it comes to Wests....IF I'm wrong then I apologize.

I don't have anything to do with Wests, but I do work with Balmain and above is what they told me plain and simple when they approached Wests about merging PL and JF.

Balmain and Wests both know that if things continue that Balmain will end up as nothing in a few years time inregards to the JV - let alone any club at all and Balmain realise this hence the reason why they approached Wests!!!!

Balmain are filthy at the moment with Wests more than ever before for the simple reason as some people have come out of Wests saying that they are going to try and take over the JV as soon as Balmain go bust - the problem with this is that Wests will then want to change the team from the Wests Tigers of course back to the Western Suburbs Magpies which would then mean they would have to field a deal to the NRL something which the NRL could reject if they wanted too- which in the end could mean the death in the NRL of both Balmain and Wests and that was said by the Gallop in regards to the JV licence that if one party was to take over it would not be garunteed a spot within the NRL!

Look I'm all for standing alone and being an individual club but the facts are if Balmain didn't agree to a JV with Wests then Wests wouldn't have been around at an NRL or PL level at the very least as the Bulldogs wanted a real big chunk of the Western Suburbs and we all know they would of got it!!!

Balmain did meet the criteria, and yeah sure they could of ended up the Parra Tigers with a Blue and Gold Tiger as the logo (which they did make a test jersey and hats) if Wests didn't jump out as a last resort for a complete 50/50 split instead of a 60/40 with the eels.

I don't want to start another Balmain vs Wests argument however the simple fact that Wests and Balmains future lies within the JV (something that most of us have come to grips with and support) and that they couldn't come to some sort of agreement for Wests to assist Balmain for once just goes to show that they don't plan on living for the future of the JV which is something they have agreed to do for at least another 6 years but the future of themselves!!!!!!!!
