Would certainly be close, if not the fastest. JMoz I know is a speed machine so is Jenko. Hayne has quick pace in him too. BMoz and Fergo pack some quick burst in them to. Some serious out back. Hopefully it players like Bird/Lewis/Choc.etc can bend the line and give them space they'll be brining in some tries.

Hayne is probably the fastest according to this. Left Josh Morris, Inglis and Barba for dead

That is blatantly untrue. He is leading the try scorer this year and we've had one of the toughest starts to the season. One of the best finishers in the game, that is what he does.

I'd argue Taufua is ahead of him as well. Would you rather Fergo, Taufua or Merritt trying to pull down someone like Greg Inglis? Who for that matter is also top of the try scorers list from Fullback in the same team.

He bagged 3 against the Roosters which for me was the most form you can really count. Although you have constantly have written the Roosters top 4 chances off in other thread. While against either Melbourne or Manly he failed to get any points. Ferguson kicks goals (pretty average, but still does) and has scored 7 in 8 matches. Merritt has 11 in 10, plays for a better (more consistent) team and hasn't kicked at goal since 2008.

If you were pushing for Reynolds or Sutton I'd find it much harder to go against your point as there isn't much difference in the selection options in their positions. But for mine, Merritt is a good club player, but not the build you want for SOO.

I just feel like we have been selecting the same category of winger for years with little success. We don't score tries on our edges, we've picked some great big blokes who can cart it back but there just seems to be something lacking in finishing off our tries. We are choosing a defensive strategy rather than an attacking one. Can you imagine Queensland picking their team based on how to stop Hayne or Morris? We made a ton of breaks last year that didn't turn into tries because we didn't have somebody backing up. Merritt is probably the best in the game at doing that, I think a Merritt + Jennings combo would be lethal. The best finisher we've had at this level is Akuila, but his issue is being a liability under the ball.

It's just my opinion, I've watched Merritt for years. He isn't leagues above the other wingers, but he is something different in a sea of wingers who have not done much of anything for NSW. And I think he is a better option than a Brett Morris with one scrappy game back from injury or a center playing on wing which he hasn't played for a few years.

Bring TG in and start him with Tamou. Gallen back to lock and Lewis to the bench where he is more effective in Origin.

Grant would be the smart option but Sutton would also be a decent option. Has to be one of those 2

Grant has to be a certainty now. Yet I can't shake the feeling they'll snub him again and give an Origin debut to George Rose...

I'd like to see Carney get picked because I don't think Maloney/Pearce are up to it, but Grant would be the logical option.
