Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Eels started to get back into the game when Blair went off midway through the second half, along with Farah. Sheens threw them back on at the end to try and stop the flow but it was too late. When they're off the park together, we're a much worse side defensively. Also, looked like Ryan was defending in the middle of the park, with Ayshford and Reddy on the right. BMM was out on the left wing a couple of times, the team was just all over the place. No wonder the Eels started to carve us up, we had about 6 blokes out of position. Sheens can blame the players, but he's the one reshuffling the entire side.

I hate Shines as much as the next person, but the players do have to put their hands up for that disgraceful effort in the last 12 minutes...

Missed tackles, dropped balls and overlaps all over the park..

Thank god that Benji slotted over a few difficult goals earlier, or that would have been the biggest choke since the 1999 GF.

For the first time I can remember Shines picked a heavyweight bench that dominated the game for 67 minutes...

What is the bet now that he goes back to his 1 prop, 1 second rower and two back bench now, as he will assume that they ran out of puff at the end?

The disgraceful finish to yesterday's game could actually be a blessing in disguise. We still got the points and hopefully Sheens now realises that his hairbrained ideas of 5 or 6 positional changes mid game is totally unacceptable. There is no other team in the comp that does that shit. Just leave people in their positions for the 80 mins. F*ck me, surely it's not that hard.

He's trying to be some sort of revolutionary coach, but he's consistently doing more harm than good. It's only because we have such a talented squad that we can even compete on a weekly basis. Sheens constantly has us playing from behind the 8 ball. We'd be a lot better off with just a meat and potatoes style coach. Our natural creativity through Benji and Robbie is more than enough, we don't need to be employing crazy plans and tactics.

Not 100% but pretty certain Farah was off. Blair was definitely off which threw our left side out of whack and no surprise we let in 3 down that side. Players need to take some responsibility but it was also Sheens' shuffling.

It is what you get for picking a centre on the bench.

Utai & Meaney are actual utilities, Ayshford has zero utility value

What about Lawrence at five-eighth again. Will Sheens ever let this go?

Puts him there for five minutes, enough for him to get away the worst shank of a kick I have ever seen.

And with all the talk recently about cracking down on ruck / offside infringements, it was good to see the refs penalise Hackmarsh for his leg pull / ankle hold on every f**king tackle. f**k that guy is ordinary. How he was allowed to get away with it every time he flopped on one of our guys in his third man in style is beyond me.

Lastly, on Moltzen, at least he returned the ball with some vigour yesterday, a noticeable and welcome improvement. NRL Stats have him with 7 returns for 72 metres, hardly earth-shattering but he ran straight and hard (for him) more often than not. His continued insistence on taking every high kick without leaving the ground though is asking for trouble and is aggravating. The refs won't bail you out if you don't attack the ball.

I wonder how Parra would have gone if they didn't hoist every 5th tackle kick into the air in that first half and instead tried to play footy. Results came for them late in the second half when they put the ball through the hands and asked questions of the Tigers. Fair enough the Tigers clocked off / had the defensive line almost entirely reshuffled but their unimaginative game plan in the first 40 helped us out enormously.

Watching the game I thought WT had it in the bag and left to do some work and couldn t believe my eyes when the news later said it was 31-30.

Danger signs for WT is the clocking off being an open display for all to see of our lack of mental toughness and concentration. Yep, the players deserve a big boot up the ar*e and I think my fellow posters have a good point that towards the end of the match Sheens shuffled everyone around and there were way too many players playing in 'foreign' positions. The Parra tries seemed to come from all corners so you cant just say it was x or y player/s at fault. It was the entire team that didnt know what to do in the last 10-15 minutes. Puzzling.

Edit- further thought, we have won only 3 matches this year so far and 2 of those wins (Cronulla and Parra) WT were very lucky to walk away with the win. We are in serious trouble- something is wrong somewhere and I dont see us recovering in time to be competitive for this season's finals as we are too far behind the leaders. Another season gone to Teflons vision and skill as the mastercoach?????????????

He has done a Alan Tongue. Stayed a season too long and is now a utter waste of cap space

I think your captain needs to look at what bowlers he uses in the last few overs. You posted a winning score after your alloted overs and Parra made a late rush to almost win but ran out of deliveries at the end.:sarcasm::lol:

It was a disgraceful joke.

This team just can't finish off games. They are incapable of it.

It has a snowball effect too. Every team in the comp knows that they're never quite out of the game against the Tigers, and it means they always lift for the second half.

When a team is down by two tries against Melbourne or Brisbane, they throw the ball around hoping for a miracle. When they're down by two tries against us they know they just have to hold onto the ball, run straight and hard, and the points will come.

Who the f**k inspires, motivates, drives, leads, pushes the team when their heads drop, they make a mistake or forget why theyre out there. We've got two players, constantly alluded to with animosity between them, sharing a role amongst different team members like differing high school cliques.

For eg do Moltzen and Ryan look to their bestie, room mate, media darling, high profile, heavily endorsed and creative playmaker when things go to shit. Or do they look to their captain?
