Why does everyone seem to think moving the Sharks to Adelaide would be successful?

I travelled down for a game played against the Cowboys at Hindmarsh Stadium years ago (maybe 2009?) and there was barely any support for the Sharks. The Cowboys however seemed to have a lot of support from the small crowd that turned up.

Why people assume that moving a team would mean instant success is beyond me

Who, besides his close mates give a flying f**k what Meninga thinks or has to say.

A nothing story from a person looking to grab a headline.

Fugg him and the horse he rode in on.

Good old Mal, the man famous for pissing his pants in fear and resigning his political career within seconds of it beginning, I'm so very interested in his opinion.

Funny how these "Sharks must shift" lackwits never factor in the clubs assets and always assume that the fans will just drift along like sheep.

What close mates?

Oh maybe the one that was his partner in his fruit n veggie business and ripped him off.

Shifting a team - and Cronulla would be a perfect example - into Perth, Adelaide or even southeast Queensland is a win-win situation of helping a club keep its identity and traditions alive, while at the same time moving league into new frontiers with an established structure and playing rosters.

We could call ourselves the Western Reds or Adelaide Rams. How many kids play league in SA? Probably 0.

Keep our identity ! Cant even get more than 12k on our death bed. Any interstate move guarantees losing your identity. I follow Cronulla cos I live here not in bloody Perth or Adelaide.

League has not successfully relocated a single team AFL has to a point. I would rather fold than re-locate.can you imagine relocating and it not working. We are probably a top 6 club. Can you imagine Perth running 6th? We would lose all our top players to other Sydney clubs..
