Sour Puss Thread

This thread is dedicated to the Indian Cricket Team who even at this early stage, are winners of the 2008 sour puss awards.

I have 2 Hypothetical questions I would like answered.

a) Would all this talk about a possible boycott be going on had India drawn the last test?

b) How would the Indians react to a pact MCG racially abusing the Indians with taunts and monkey gestures?

I can't fathem to think what sort of a reaction the Australian public would have given our aussies cricketers had any thoughts of a possible boycott been given in the last tour of India. In my eyes, this is worse than anything imaginable with what transpired between a whole nation and 12 cricketers in Calcutta. A few bad decisions in the last test were made by 2 neutral umpires and Australia is now perceived as "not playing in the spirit of the game"

Shame on India. Anul Kumble and the Indian cricket board have put the game in disrepute with their schoolyard bitching and childish comments. Should India boycott the remainder of the series, they would have done world cricket a diservice and should be black listed for 2 years by the ICC for endangering the health and game.

Funny thing - I just noticed that the condoms I buy are made in India.

Should I consider changing to another brand? I'm a bit worred that the ones shipped to Oz in future may, upon close investigation, be found to have tiny holes pricked into them (so to speak).

I'd be switching just for peace of mind.

Birth control doesn't seem to be an Indian forte.

And I'd like to see a 'Sour Puss reverse award', because I'm curious as to whether the violins would drown out the whinging in Australia if the roles were reversed- Awful one sided decision through the whole game- a player suspended because a couple of the biggest sledgers on the other team reported him for sledging...and that's without tackling the so called catches and pseudo centuries! God, if that test was a fair officiated sporting event, think I'll watch the wrestling ;-)

you should have watcehd the whole game if you think all the decisions were one sided

So miticsm, you'd like a thread based entirely on a hypothetical situation?

While I agree India were slightly favoured by poor decisions, BOTH sides were affected, which is the fault of NEITHER side.

You're an idiot.

You've been making some good points today timmah, this unfortunately is not one of them. It was a valid question

I'm referring to miticsm's post. The proposition of "situations reversed" is a moot one designed to get Australians on the back foot for an event that simply hasn't occurred yet. If it happens I'm happy to discuss it but to me it seems to be a last resort for someone whose argument is slowly sinking in a lack of facts and basis.

I think the idea of the situations being reversed is a good point and well worth discussion

I don't, but I'll discuss anyway.

The Australian fans would all be bleating that the ICC is under control from the BCCI.

The Australian fans WOULDN'T be burning effigies of Bucknor and Benson in the street.

Instead, the Australian fans WOULD be written huffy, whinging letters to the Telegraph.

Australia wouldn't be softc*cks and cancel their tour though, I guarantee you that right now.

The most important point to note is that India weren't the only team dudded by decisions in last week's test.

It's all too predictable and too easily manipulated by the media.

True. If you took away the poor umpiring, the racism allegations, and India had won or drawn the test it would have been a non-issue. These issues have nothing to do with the aussies and blaming them for the result and Harbhajan's racist actions is very weak-minded.

i'd like to of seen how india would of gone if they didn't let an australian bowler get 79 and allow his mate at the other end get 160 not out ;-) maybe rolling australia for under 200 would of won the game for india inside 4 days?

I thought this thread was going to address, the whinging Kiwis that dont stop complaining about anything related to Australia, they whinge about our government, our sportsmen, our country, it just never stops.

They have nothing to do with this test, but they couldnt help sticking there friggin heads in it, becuase it just makes them cringe that we are simply so far ahead of them.

If they put half the effort they do whinging about Australia, into a sport they might actually win something, but they just refuse to put the hard yards into anything.

Kiwis stop discussing world champions, like you have some knowledge on the subject. Go back to talking about Yawnion, and pretending that your good at that, and we will go back to pretending that we care what you think.

Hahahaha

For f**ks sake, if this same thing was going on right now between SA and India you'd f**king stick your nose in.

It's an important issue for a game we all support.

And no sh*t Aussie is miles ahead of NZ at the moment - nobodys debating that - and if you actually appreciated the sport you'd hope that teams like NZ would become more competitive in test cricket so you guys might actually get a close test every now and then.

Brush that chip off your shoulder.
