WTF?

When has Souths EVER played Saints on Australia Day?

Why do mothers let 9 year old children on this forum?

Yeah I don't think two teams playing a full match in mid to high 30 degree heat would be ideal.

I know that's it's unusually cold at the moment.

Plus they're promoting League in the states which is fantastic.

Looks like this won't be seen on Fox Sports. I can't find any reference to it on their website.

Damn unlucky. But this will be a glorified game of touchy footy anyway. Still would have been nice to see league, any league!!!

I found the Video...Just watched NRL news on www.bigpondtv.com, Russell Barwick was interviewing Steve Mascord from the Daily Telegraph from Jacksonville.

Russell stated that the match would be shown live on Sunday Morning from 5:00am

A link to the video can be found here http://bigpondsport.com/desktopmodules/categorymanager/iframe_media.aspx?play=72518225

I cant understand the piont of this game.

If its an attempt to introduce the yanks to rugby league it needs more than a one off game of touch footy.
The yanks at the game will come away and say "yeh that was awsome, i could really get into this sport" just like they said 20 yrs ago after the one off origin game.
Then 2 teams will pack up and fly out of the country the next day and the whole thing will be a piotless excercise.
If league seriously wants to try and get into the narrow american market they need to get a pro comp up and running, inroduce it the colleges, and then just see how it goes...given time im sure rugby league could be succsesful in the states..after all league is the greatest game of all.

There is ANRL but i still think they should stage this game every year in the US to go with the Australian theme they have in the US around Australia day.

The AMNRL, mainly in the form of the Jacksonville Axemen, have been pretty heavily involved in the promotion of the match. They're the reason the game is being played in Jacksonville in the first place.
