Lolplz Skyfall was outstanding.
In what sense exactly?
I mean, from a technical standpoint its kinda pretty to look at, but the story was one of the dumbest f**king things of the Craig films yet.
*SPOILERS*
Bond does nothing but get his arse handed to him, fail to prevent any attacks or murders and ultimately gets his boss killed. To add to that, there's this f**king creepy sex scene with a chick who's basically just admitted to being a sex slave and who is then just killed off with as much thought as your average storm trooper death, and Bardem's revenge plan was the most geniused "get myself caught on purpose" thing I've seen and his motives (given he was a f**king spy) were moronic in the extreme.
When you think about the movie, Bardem achieves all of his goals (wanted to kill M and basically wanted to die himself) and Bond basically fails at every level... I mean he can't even pass his f**king basic skills test in the movie
Yet somehow after all that he's still got a job. It's seriously the dumbest shit since the Brosnan era, but at least with his movies you knew they weren't taking themselves too seriously.
Craig franchise sadly hasn't been much chop after the first installment, although casino royale might've been the best bond film.
Agreed. By and large you could have called this era's character "James Bourne" as it feels desperately like it's trying to ape the action and intensity of those movies (just without the story).
