Spineless, Gutless and Heartless

The past 2 weeks we've had 2 must win games, and we've been belted in both. It is completely unacceptable, the team is not playing with any passion. Hopefully we can finish our season with a little bit of respectability (not get 40 put on us another 2 weeks, and be competitive), and finally prepare for season 09. Turns out the pre-season talk of "we are disappointed in how we finished last season" was all talk, because its groundhog day.

Yes, I would like to see the team show us what they can do, better to fire late than never.

All that will achive is making ppl think that the current team has the ability to be picked in 2009.

Only positive this year was Daine Laurie.. well done mate, keep your feet on the ground and u will be a NRL star with a massive future.

The only problem with this approach is that some of these future players you speak of are playing in two sides that are a good chance of playing in the finals (the Magpies are certainties and the 20's are still in with a shot). Probably want to have these two sides at full strength.

I feel the title of this thread could also be used to describe tonights performance. If we get bent over by the Titans next week, Sheens should be sent to the centrelink line within 24 hours of full time and he can take that so called defensive coach with him.

A major portion of our player dollars- Marshall- went missing last night. He started to play OK and then dropped off again. I dont think we can afford to keep him- I'd rather a solid 5/8 and pay less $$$ and put the savings into a good 1/2 who can direct us around the park. Morris played well and solidly BUT is not a play maker. Mind you, we already know that- pity Sheens does not get it.

Halatau played well and one great tackle to save a try. Fulton didn't shine- so I"d retain Halatau over Fulton- we cant have 2 x small forwards.

Payne did nothing- go.

Tiuaiki- they have worked him out on the wing. I'd move him back into forwards.

GIbbs did nothing- go

Heighington confirmed his heart with another great effort- I"d make him captain for next year. Farah is good but I think captaincy might be too much extra responsibility- we want him to be a play maker.

Please explain to me the sudden popularity of Stuart Flanagan? We have Halatau and Morris as our multi role players and can cover things. Why are we giving a player leaving the club in 2 games time exposure to NRL? Shouldn't we give that opportunity to a player staying? Please dont use the argument we still had a chance at finals - we were dead ducks after Manly and on life support the week before after the loss to the Eels.

Goodbye too to Sheens and SImmons- they have to offer to resign if the WT board wish it.

the problem is, as much as Sheens has gone stale, there's not a great deal of coaches out there better than him who could fix things here, let alone being off contract.

A different coach though would bring a whole new way of doing everything, which would at least MAYBE be a positive, where sticking with the same ol same ol has brought nothing for three years.
The only thing weve excelled in is getting good publicity for charity stuff...woo ho..

So this will be the first time since 2005 when we are going inot the final round and are not a mathematical chance of making the finals. Since next weeks game against the Titans counts for nothing I would hope to see big changes.

When I say big changes, I mean stuff like Daine Laurie at fullback, etc.

Oh I completely agree, I'm just saying though that you want to be seen as moving forwards, you don't want to get a new coach who is worse than Sheens.

We need someone who is a tough coach, get these lazy merkins working hard for a f**king change.
