You Manly fans defending Matai for "defending" Buhrer - how come it wasnt Lyon or someone closer? Matai came from the other side of the field ffs. If he traveled any further he'd need a f*cking thermos and a cut lunch!!!!!!!

Other side of the field? You didn't watch the game did you? He came from about 10m away, not the other side of the field.

Allgood was probably concerned 8 Manly players were going to run in and gang-bash him like they did to Adam Blair that time.

Definitely looking forward to Matai getting himself sent off and suspended for the rest of the year next time the two sides meet

lol i guess they should stop laying on cheap shots to Manly players if they are concerned about what might happen afterwards

As a fan it is such a pleasure to watch your team play for each other and stick up for themselves. Seeing how personally the Manly team take losses makes it much easier to deal with the loss as a supporter. Watching Stewart give Foran his first try of the year whilst already over the line puts a big smile on my face and most of all watching guys like Choc & Matai play the game so hard and always keep going forward even after a mistake/big hit is the reason why i love supporting this team.

Matai will never stop playing the game as hard as he does and nor should he, you dont see him in tackles twisting knees and gouging so as long as his hits are genuine attempts and not the sort of shot that Allgood put on Buhrer then i dont care. Watching Allgood reposition himself while Buhrer was being put to the ground to throw that swinging arm right in front of the ref shows what sort of player he is (in my eyes the two weeks should have come from this offense), the reason why he threw those punches so quickly was he knew what he did was not only illegal (high shots are usually not intentional) but also a dog act and he was very edgy as he expected a few back straight away. End of the day Matai is big enough to handle it and it makes for interesting viewing for the next game.

This act of merkinery cost me a game in VNRL.

Stewart better start scoring some faaaaaaaaarken tries this year.

Yeah i can totally agree that would have hurt a few people....I have always had an issue with NRL as there are way too manly variables in regards to betting/fantasy teams. Its hard enough relying on your team to win :p

Hey, he's your fullback.

And? I couldn't care less if he's scoring tries or handing the ball to his teammates to score them. As long as it results in 4 (preferably 6) points, I don't care who scores them.

He gets no points for that in my comp so if he would kindly start putting them down over the line himself again that'd be appreciated, thanks.

Lol at those who think Allgood should have knocked him out because it was a prop punching a centre.

How small do you blokes think Matai is?

Yeah, except he ran across and behind the ruck to get at Allgood. if Manly were onside, the bloke in front of Allgood has to be at least 10m away. A bloke coming diagonally across the field, behind the ruck, has to be on the other side of the field, given that the ruck was midfield.

Allgood has played 14 games for 125 hit-ups.

125 divided by 14 = 8.9

"If I get an opportunity, I'll definitely try to put a shot on. But it would be tough to get a shot on when he only takes the ball up 8.9 times a game," said Matai.

Great line by the dual premiership winner Matai. Has clearly one this battle without laying a finger on the wooden spooner.
