I'd love to know what game you watched, MQ. Because in the game I watched, Kite got absolutely OWNED and didn't do shit. I also saw Beaver get a try, but that was about it. BK offloaded a few times, but that was about it too. So yeah, you were probably right when you said Kite was close to Beaver & BK.

Commending the other team makes me an idiot? :lol: Turn it up. Honestly. There's 14 other teams in the comp, to not label the Warriors average to poor on their performance today is doing a disservice to them. Look where they are in the Power Rankings, and rightly so.

No one in their right mind expected a dicking (Oz and I mucked around), we expected though improvements in the backline. Price and Wiki muscled up the pack nicely. But the lack of structure and direction with the platform laid was extremely worrying. This was Manly at home, they're not the premiers, nor even a team that finished in the top 8 last year. This was at Ericsson, you'd expect to see more structure and a probable victory.

No one has jumped off the wagon - just stating the facts. The halves played poorly, as did the outside backs. And I'm the idot? :? You can't tell me you were happy with the backs performance? They had a perfect foundation, it isn't going to get any easier throughout the competition.

Manly defended extremely well. They deserve the credit they get for their win. Credit where credit is due, the NRL doesn't begin and end with the Warriors, as much as I'd like it to.

I don't really care about comparing the Warriors to the other teams in the comp after one game. And I don't suffer the power rankings systems. Out there today was The Warriors vs Manly. That's what I'm focusing on. You can give all the credit you like to the other team, I wouldn't call you an idiot for that. But you are an idiot if the other team played just about as badly as your own team. The only credit they'll be getting from me is that they had more points than us.

Dude, it's like you are expecting a brand new team and everything just to instantaneously click in the first game of the comp. There has been a lot of changes at the Warriors and unfortunately for you, it's gonna take time. But time will result in combos starting to come together, the cobwebs to well and truly be blown out and the Warriors to start reaching their potential. And it won't take long.

You say Manly weren't the premiers and they didn't finish in the top 8. Where were we???

Was I happy with the outside backs? No. But I was happy with Tony Martin. Byrne was a bit quiet, Meli was out of position quite a few times and Toopi was owned by Terry Hill. So 1/4 ain't good, but they'll improve.

The Halves will click, I saw signs that they'll be dangerous once they get more game time. Handling was sloppy, if some of those plays had come off, it would have been a different story.

I blame handling for the match's result and I would hope the cobwebs have been blown out now. Just you wait until the game against Brisbane, it's gonna be a rocket buster. Maybe then we can start getting a better picture of how the Warriors' season is going to transpire.

I've gotta say those power rankings are full of sh* t though. The Eagles are at #5 and we're at #15, with 6 point separating the teams, yet it was one of the closer games of the round? There were a fair few other sides with more to worry about after roud one (Knights & Tigers spring to mind).

Ok so the Warriors were pretty average, I'd expect maybe 12th or 13th. But compared to the abysmal performance put in by the Knights, you cannot seriously say we deserve to be below them. At least we weren't leaking tries every 5 minutes!
