Losing by one point in extra time, with Dean Young at 5/8th, 2 debutantes, a 2 man bench and 6 players out.

Yeah, a shocker.

Well done to both teams, scrappy yet exciting game.

A good game, even if there was a lot of dropped ball. I'm happy with our start to the year under the circumstances.
Fancy someone whose side get's 70 points put on them putting siht on another team.

The game was a bit scrapy but I think both sides can be happy with the way they defended, especially in the first half.

The Dragons made us work very hard to earn our win.

But our first win at WIN since 1991 - a relief, more than anything.

Needed this game for $1200. Wasnt very happy when it went to GP after leading 12-2.

Is anyone else as perplexed as I am as to how, despite the sin binning, Puletua managed to stay on the field? He definitely didn't miss.....

I am baffled as to why he was binned. you cannot be binned for a high tackle! Only a professional foul. Hayne may have warned both teams for high tackles but you still cant send a player to the bin for one

I'm not fussed as to what happened - regardless of whether he was falling or not it was a poor tackle. I'm just trying to work out if someones head needs to be knocked off his shoulders before a player is sent off.

I think he may have had a bit to say to the referee.....

I listend to Raaaaaaaaaaaaay and there was no mention of dissent.
Frank Puletua couldnt really say anything to Hayne as he hammered the Dragons player who had a cut lip.
I think Hayne needs to be taken to task for this decision.

A couple of minutes before the tackle Gower as acting captain was warned by Hayne about the number of penalties we were giving away and that he would take "The next step" if it continued. A couple of tackles later and Puletua hit Price high so he had to go.

Yep, the call was spot on. Couldnt have agreed more with the decision.

Panthers had just been penalised and Hayne said something along the lines of youve just gone high, then grapple and then high again, if it keeps happening i will be forced to take further action. Next set Puletua puts a nasty high shot on and gets sin binned for 10.

Hayne had one of the better games ive ever seen him ref yesterday.

i thought it was a very low quality game.

i was actually praying for full time to arrive to put an end to one of the more talentless displays of league i've witnessed. suddenly sims scores & i had to sit through another couple of minutes of pus before finally being put out of my misery. both teams had nothing to be proud of. the knights / raiders game thankfully took away focus from what was truly a most vomitous fixture.
