Did anyone watch the NRL Forum last night?

Apparently Royce Simmons was asked why the Tigers did not sign any players. He stated that the Tigers made offers for basically everyone - Kite, Riddell, Morrison, etc. They matched or even exceeded the contracts offered by other clubs but could not compete with the sponsorship deals of other clubs. I imagine by this he means Delmege, City Ford etc.

This then presents a problem. Does it...
A. Show that the salary cap needs to be changed to reflect the actual money paid to players (including sponsorship)
B. The Tigers have no decent sponsors that can help us out and eventually we will die. Where are the likes of Meriton? Do they even want to help? This is where we as a club need to start working from the top down. We need to reform the administration of our club and get the sponsorhip dollars in to buy players, fix stadiums, market our team etc.
C. Invest in our youth and stuff signing anyone - ever.

The sponsorship deals are the reason why the cap is a joke. get rid of them and the comp becomes much more even.

Spot on mikey! The roosters and to a lesser extent manly focus heavily on this side of the business. Either 2 thing should happen. either the NRL gets rid of it, this way allowing for a more level playing field.... or 2, we shut up and find a way to compete with them. All clubs do this just not on the same scale.

Umm maybe your management team are about as good at business as Darren Clarke was at League! Which successful business would want to put their hard earned anywhere near a bunch of blokes that couldn't organise a f**k in a brothel? I certainly wouldn't.

I am surprised that you have not taken you own life due to your lack of male features & your 3 year stint of being the prison bitch at Long Bay.
