It'd be nice if they picked up another win or two but the spoon is pretty safe in Newcastle for another year.

Full credit to the Knights and Nathan Brown, they are not giving up and are putting in to the very end. They are embracing the tag as "spoiler". If you circle in a win before you play them it is at your peril.

The Dogs are the worst team in the comp. Whether they get the spoon or not who knows. They managed to get out of jail against a Knights team that if they played again now would probably spank them. The Warriors are a total rabble too but that's expected with Johnson out. The Bulldogs have all hands on deck. They're just garbage.

The spoon couldn't mean less this year. The two clubs likely vying for it are more likely to be top 8 contenders next year, while teams 12-14 might avoid the ignominy this year but they look shithouse for 2018.
