Update contract list:

New stuff:

- Sean Russell top 30 2022/23
- Makatoa top 30 2022
- Naiduki top 30 2022

so looks like we have 27 players contracted for 2022 (probably soon to be 29 once Rein/Scott are confirmed)

New players on development contracts:

- Rodwell
- Tuipulotu (appears to be a fullback who played SG this year)
- Loizou

Tuipulotu was the star in Harold Matts a few years ago. He either missed the grand final or got injured early and we lost to Manly.

So what happened to this merkin ?

Another year in Flegg ? Wenty contract ? Development contract ?

The former Queensland under-19 halfback is expected to play in the NSW Cup next season before moving into the NRL squad in 2023.

I suspect the article is about us signing a failed junior as a project player. It's possible he has a great running game but lacks everything else required for the NRL. Playing NSW Cup next year could mean he's on a part time contract, and moving into the NRL squad could mean bottom of the top 30. Who knows, but it's not worth getting excited about when it's a player who's about to participate in his third NRL pathways system. Why did the Sharks and Dragons let him go in consecutive years?

Hipgrave plus last week's revelations from NRL.com:

* = player option
¢ = club option
^ = development contract

2022
Utility: Perham (23), Russell, Tuipulotu^
Fullback: Gutherson (28)
W/C: Blake, Dunster (23), Loizou (20)^, Naiduki (22), Opacic (28), Penisini, Sivo
Half: Arthur (20), D.Brown, Moses
Hooker: Mahoney (24)
Edge forward: Cartwright, Lane, Matterson (28), Niukore (26), Papali'i (24)
Tight forward: N.Brown, Campbell-Gillard, Greig (23), Hollis, Kaufusi (23), Makatoa (29), Paulo (29), Rodwell (23)^, Stone (25)

2023
Utility: Russell (21), Tuipulotu (21)^
Fullback: -
W/C: Blake (29), Penisini (21), Sivo (30)*
Half: D.Brown (23)*, Moses
Hooker: -
Edge forward: Cartwright (29), Lane (29)
Tight forward: N.Brown (30), Campbell-Gillard, Hollis (22)

2024
Utility: -
Fullback: -
W/C: -
Half: Moses (30)*
Hooker: -
Edge forward: -
Tight forward: Campbell-Gillard

2025
Utility: -
Fullback: -
W/C: -
Half: -
Hooker: -
Edge forward: -
Tight forward: Campbell-Gillard (32)

So we (officially) have 26 merkins in next year's top 30, and 11 in the 2023 squad.

Some prick made similarly discouraging remarks about Connor Broadhurst a while ago. The fans were not impressed.
