IIRC after he was shafted by STG, the Warriors felt it was the right thing to do (pastoral care) by paying for his operation.

Nothing wrong with that signing. Ron will have a point to prove you’d imagine. Good depth signing and was much needed.

Having 4th halves choice with a little bit of first grade experience and a fair bit of reserve grade experience is very good.

If we can get another hooker for first grade and everyone drops down a spot it may well be the best spine we've had in reserve grade for quite a while.

The best thing is pressure on NRL spots. Playing Massey players in NSW Cup was always baffling to me. I get that they wanted to keep their 2024 Flegg team together as a development unit, but it seemed to be at the detriment up the ladder. What would I know I guess.

Cayless has more talent to work with and a head coach who will implement a style from the top down.

I dont think Reserve grade and first grade were ever aligned under the old regime with style of footy or team unity.

Not having any family relations to the head coach will make things a lot smoother.

You dont have to be an idiot to realise there would have been some people on eggshells not to piss off certain people while ever the Arthur's were around that could have got back to the Head coach.

Not sure what this has got to do with picking weird haircut guy Kyle Cassel from Ron Massey ahead of literally 10 forwards from the juniors. Who decided that it was best for Sam Tuivaiti's development that he keep playing age footy ?

You'd have to think it was a club decision, i agree it didn't make much sense when they missed the finals anyway.

Yep and nothing changed when BA got the bullet in May. So it must have been a think tank call.

I can understand later in the year when there was a chance to make Flegg finals. But picking Cassel, Alderton, Luke even Mulitalo ahead of their Flegg counterparts was baffling. Hopefully with the extra depth that the R & R team has realised they can utilise once again instead of using those RM cup guys instead we see the Flegg players utilised instead.

There'll be a few to pick from: Lynn, Pryke, Twidle, Alameddine, Farrugia, Funa-Iuta, Lokeni. Not to mention the ones already on the fringes of Cup selection: Tuivaiti, Latu, Penisini.

Well we took 2 months to land on a new coach.

Who was running the show after Arthur got the punt.

MON, Trent Barrett i dont have a clue. Maybe it was easier to have the status quo.

I don't think Trent Barrett would have given a toss about what was going on in Flegg tbf.

He was just worried about keeping the FG side above water with an injury crisis.

We were in a holding pattern until we appointed Ryles in mid-July and i assume Ryles was more worried about First Grade and getting the pre-season plan in place in those last 8 weeks and keeping an eye on who he wanted to keep in the top 30.

Where does Twidle and Lynn at next season.

Volkman and Hawkins will be the halves for Cup with Smith at hooker.

They'll both have to start in Flegg for mine. The reserve grade fullback will be either Papali'i or AMS if the former is playing firsts. Twidle may have to go back to the centres if he wants more of an opportunity. You might be able to play one of them off the bench but what's better for their development 10-20 minutes in Cup or 80 minutes of Flegg? I don't know. But they'll get their opportunity at some point in the year.

Lots of crystal ball gazing right there.

I'd be happy with just Lussick dropping down a spot, if we signed a bench hooker/utility who could bring on any traits that Hands is lacking in. Kind of like the PJ Marsh/Brad Drew double act.

A young hungry player with a point to prove, plus also he's talented. Another smart purchase. Youth speed and skill are what we have been signing so far, what a breath of fresh air JR is.
f**king cyclone of fresh air mate.👍
