Watching sharks games highlights he was generally a bench middle and looked really effective. TCT hinted that Kautoga is pushing hard for an edge spot. Guy is a beast.

His attack looks great but his defence looks terrible. I noticed in a training picture he was defending next to Brown and Penisini on the LHS. Maybe we can hide his defence a little bit defending next to Dylan. A half covering for a second-rower, usually the other way around right?

Sharks fans say he no longer has the mobility to defend on the edge. I never noticed a problem with him defending in the middle but Ill have a closer look.

Hopefully we don't need to hide his poor defence we need our players this year to be a defensive unit.

Career tackle efficiency is over 93%. JFH is 92% so I don't think we have to worry too much about his defence.

The only thing with tackle efficiency in the middle is it doesn't take into account line speed. If someone is shooting out of the line, or leading the line they may get bumped off but prevent more pre-contact metres. Or they could be the 3rd man in preventing post contact metres and slowing the play the ball down.
