Only $1.6m for their centres? Ppft that's chump change

BRB going to go find a small lock forward to sign
Yeah, I forgot about your teams focus.
I daresay thought that Latrell and Jack are better value, if they stay on the field that is.
Paying Centres overs buggers every team up.

Any other team in the NRL have $1.6M invested I their Centre's?
That's just Cap Suicide right there unless it's G.I and Latrell both included.
Holmes and Suli aren't that calibre.

Probably Bulldogs if Woods becomes halfback and Galvin moves to 5/8th. Then it would be critta and burton as the centres.

Newcastle were playing under Holbrook for the first time and would have wanted to make a statement. I know it was only a trial match but they're usually good indicators of how teams will perform in the regular season.
I remember the Panthers lost all trial matches and went on to win the Comp. Hardly a yard stick.

2025 Witzer NRL Pre-Season Challenge - RLP https://share.google/CdzwdNmRXlOJF2qf8

Broncos did the double in 2025... Witzer Cup and NRL champions.

Dragons were also undefeated runner up in the 2025 Witzer Cup, but alas and alack they were dog shite in the NRL.

Newcastle went 1 and 1 to finish 10th, then collected the spoon.

I think you know your last statement is codswallop.

If these trials are any indication of future form, then the Dragons are going to have a huge 2026.

Have you seen the sides named for this week? They're going to win the Charity Shield by 40. Lock in that minor premiership.
A fair bit of false hope really. Both Dragons and Cowboys are playing full strength teams due to Vegas next game, where as Souths and Penrith are playing their first trial game. Trials are just a hit out for match fitness.

Flanagan has won every trail game since he started coaching Saints, he clearly takes them more seriously then other coaches. From memory Cronulla used to go hard in them too, we played them a few years in a row at Campbelltown and theyd always play their best team.

Yes the Vegas teams should really be playing each other again this week.

The Charity Shield is nothing like it used to be and we can all live without it being played for a year. Long gone are the days it was basically the only televised pre-season fixture.

2008 and 2011 Manly lost 50+ in trial matches.

Whoever is saying trials is a good indicator is a melon.
Broncos did well in the pre season last year and went on to win the premiership. As for the Dragons the loss to South Sydney was just the latest example of them being an enigma, watch them come out and beat the Bulldogs in Vegas.
