Mullen's kicking game yesterday was as good as Pearce's on Friday night, if not better. He had a great game, but I thought Sau was our best player - He was a beast

Matt Bowen was the real standout overall for me. Seeing him and Thurston working together so brilliantly was just magical to watch.

Mullen, Pearce, Sau, Mannah and Stanley were all also great.

Thurston
Bowen
Asotasi
Pearce
Hayne
Mannah
Stanley
Hornby
Soward
Fergurson
Sau
Mullen
This with...

Mose Masoe
Tom Symonds
Josh McGuire
Sam Williams
Kurt Gidley

All stood out.

But then again I only watched four games closely on the weekend.

EDIT: Forgot Tamou who was good off the bench for the Cows and I thought Dallas Johnson definitely had an impact on the Cows resolve. Finally they have a good balance in their forward pack.

Also incase of anyone wondering, I didn't think McGuire was the Broncos best, but I definitely thought he displayed the most improvement. Parker, Lockyer and Hoffman played as well as normal.

Thought Mullen was very good yesterday. Consistency and confidence the key for him, but he's always threatened to become a pretty good player, quick between the ears.

He really seemed to thrive with the responsibility of looking after Henry. His issue has always been that he doesn't have that natural confidence/arrogance that most halves have. It's always seemed like he needed something to push him, and maybe guiding a young half (although he's only 23 himself) into firstgrade was exactly what it was.

I thought having someone he felt confident in next to him helped Mullen immensely late last year when Gidley went to half. Saw the same thing again yesterday. They will become a very good halves combination.

De Gois isn't getting any credit for his game yesterday - I thought he was very good. Great to see him fit and in form.

From the games I watched, key players in the victories were
Roosters: Symonds, Pearce, Masoe
Knights: Mullen, Fa'aoso, Sau (The whole team was very good)
Bulldogs: Barba, Kasiano (excellent on debut, apart from a few cheap turnovers), Idris

Watched Saturday's games off and on at work, but from what I saw, Soward was outstanding.

Mullen is my player of the round.

Aiden Tolman was absolutely outstanding tonight. If he isn't in the NSW squad for Origin 1 then we are in some serious trouble. 179 metres from 20 hit ups and 43 tackles. That is insane.

For the Eels;

Jarryd Hayne, Mitchell Allgood, Shane Shackleton, Casey Mcguire, Tim Mannah, etc. Pretty much the whole forward pack deserves mention really.
