Standard of refereeing

Has the standard of refereeing in the Super 14 ever been more abysmal? While, in the end, the better teams won, the performance of the whistle blowers has left me rather worried. Surely we can do better than these two?

The performance of Matt Goddard, in particular, was woeful. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that penalty try decision.

The Yarpie in control of the Brumbies/Hurricanes match must have had his whistle surgically attached to his mouth. The game never got going and it was solely down to him.

If this is the best we can do, then we're in big trouble.

But absolutly correct... The offside line is automatic when a tackle is made.... therefore he was offside,,, had the takle not been made he would have scored... therfore penalty try...

Dont think the new law was intended that way... but he was correct...

but the offside rule has done a 360, The offside line is automatic when a tackle is made even when the player is running back to get behind his line ? last year there were a lot of oportune 'pop up' passes collected by players (usually forwards) running back..

had the takle not been made he would have scored so you cant tackle from behind, once the opposition player has got past you, you cant touch him ?

i'm confused.... (shut up twizz...)
