I bought it yesterday. Worth every penny.

It's grouse. It's crystal clear and the sound is superb. Anyone even considering buyig it should do so immediately.

As an added touch, there are also a few extra scenes and stuff added in that are relevant to the newer Star Wars (I, II). I won't spoil it, but you'll definantly notice something new in Return of the Jedi.

The best price I have seen it for is $66. Thats at Big W. The worst I have seen it for is $90, and that was at HMV.

Have only watched about half of Episode IV and IMO the added bits do nothing for the film and detract from it if anything. I loved IV, V, VI and still can't believe how bad episode I & II were. With the burnt out bodies of uncle and aunt, the blood on the floor of the bar after Obi Wan dismembers the baddie and Han, coldly killing Greedo, episode IV is not really a little kids movie. Which is why it was good. All the added bits around Moss Eisly just remind me of Ep. I&II. Especially the Jawas falling off a huge beast as 'comedy'. Also compare the packaging and added extras with the LOTR and this set comes a distant second. Bring out the originals on DVD and I would be happy.

The Original Trilogy are never going to be released on DVD in an unaltered state as Lucas doesn't want them to be. He would like to pretend this is the only version of these films that exist.

I just noticed in The Empire Strikes back - Boba Fett's voice has changed. Instead of Jeremy Bulloch, who normally did it, they've replaced it with Temura Morrison's to tie it in with the prequels.

I know. I hate that shit too. I was half expecting to see Jar Jar Binks walk up to Luke and say G'day.

But some of the other visuals do look good.

Hopefully Jar Jar dies painfully in Episode 3. Surely that's why he made no appearances in the Original Trilogy, right?

Then aren't you glad that Boba Fett only has three lines in the entire Classic Trilogy?

Jar Jar does not die in Episode 3...Lucas has stated that on more than one occassion!

Jeremy Bulloch was not the voice of Boba Fett. Jeremy Bulloch wore the suit but the guy who voiced him was a fella named Jason...

*goes to check the 20th anniversary of Empire edition of Start Wars Insider...*

...Wingreen. Jason Wingreen was the voice of Boba Fett.

As for the DVD package itself....

the sound and picture quality is fantastic...I only watch DVDs on my PC coz I don't have a proper player yet and the movies still look awesome. I shudder to think what it'd be like on a home theatre set up. I am glad that they deceided to fix up the Jabba in Episode 4 and that Ian McDiarmid replaced the puppet Emperor in ESB. What I did hate was the dialogue they chose to replace it with!

Bonuis features disc was awesome! The fight between Anakin and Obi wan looks awesome even against a green screen. Can't wait! I was, however, extremely disappointed that there were no deleted scenes on the bonus disc!

Just wondering if the scene with Biggs on Tatooine is on the DVD? I have a picture of this scene and it appears in the novel (yes, I'm a nerd.)

Also I used to have a giant poster in my room with a bunch of B-Wings blowing up a Star Destroyer in Return of the Jedi. Which also doesn't appear in the old release, is this on the DVD?

Nope.

I must have watched all three at least 3 times each. I can't get over how good they look.
