State of Origin 2025

I'm not sure Tallis is fit for these shows. Seriously offers nothing & keeps referring to Lazarus, Webche & Langer.
He is unwatchable.
All the talk about CTE these days, Tallis is a walking advertisement for it on there half the time

He has this ridiculous little grin on his face half the time when making the same points over and over. Outside of “Qld is the best” “Reynolds isn’t a leader” “Madge isn’t better than Kevvie” he offers absolutely nothing

It would work at Eden Park on a Sunday with a 6pm NZT kickoff.
Yes, that's the fix. But it brings in the 'Origin on the weekend' argument. That has merit, resting players, etc but it wasn't widely popular. We missed our club footy! We also had nothing to do on a wintry Wednesday night.

Another Gordy special last night on 360.. reckons NSW should start Leniu and make him play 80 rather than coming off the bench "after all the tough stuff is done". And if they do that, QLD will definitely kick off to him.

It got the ridicule it deserved.
That was outrageously bad stuff. So many layers of dumb f**kery.

As in Adam? He is that one-eyed that he doesn't like Reynolds either, because he's from Sydney?

Maybe that's union's problem...their analysts and media are too sensible. There's no joy in that. We have big dumb Gordie, drunky Buzz, wound up Willie etc

Reynolds was on radio mid last year when Kev was under pressure, a radio station had some very heavy criticism of Kevvie and Billy Walters was their regular guy but he refused to go on after that so Reynolds stepped in and went on air, and Tallis has been into him ever since for not backing Walters

Oh wow, so just because he filled into Billy Walters' shoes?

Gordy could get change out of 20 IQ points I reckon.

As I said, I think union could do with some dolts like Gordy, Crawley, James Hooper etc. Jeff Wilson is far too intelligent and rational. Or someone like Mark 'p*ss blood' Watson could do a job, to wind people up.

I say this as someone who hardly ever watches union and would be happy for that world to burn

It's wall-to-wall finals this weekend! Lap it up while you can.

Super Rugby? I'm supposed to be Hurricanes (being from Wellington, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay) but I never went for them. It was Blues then Crusaders. Blues because I lived there then Crusaders as it's my NZ home now, once my parents settled there in retirement.

These condensed SOO series are a great watch. The 91 series has got to be in the all time top 3.
A few things from the games.
Geyer - what a thug, especially game 2. How would he go today?
Paul Hauff - what a series. Legs like a giraffe but.
Toe kicking - jeez Mal. Both kickers were horrendous at times though.
Mistakes and play the balls - lots of stuff the refs just let them play on. why get in the way of a good game? Not like today.
Foul play - took a lot to get sent. only Bella which was nothing compared to what Geyer did in game 2 but different ref.
Excitement plus- every game to the wire

I'll watch the Blues Chiefs game tonight for a bit, then I'm going to have to hustle to a new TV to watch our game.

I've been a Blues supporter, I grew up as a union obsessed kid who used to watch Ranfurly Shield VCRs on high rotation. Now I don't really care about the game at all. I'll watch an ABs game and my daughter loves the Black Ferns (mostly Sevens) but nah, it just doesn't do it for me anymore. And I'll support the Chiefs tonight. I hate the arrogant stuff the Blues posted last week about Moana, no fan at all of Rieko, Hoskins and this pseudo American ego rubbish they bring

It's been generally agreed that that was rugby league's greatest year. It was mine, although my side was runner-up in the grand final.
